Hmmm.... Shame about the graphics, if those indeed are the Wii one's. At least the backgrounds look nice, plus we get two games for the price of one as 'Fate of Atlantis' is an unlockable game.

Can't expect much more from the graphics seeing as it's coming out on the PSP as well so they'll probably just make the game so it can easily be worked on and run on both pieces of hardware. Sucks really.

Did the Indaina Jones projects run out of money on the PS3 and 360 and now the Wii is being given this trash to get a bit of cash back? Or is this being rushed out while the new film is still in memory? Either way this is horrible.

Wait for it, this will sell millions and go towards funding for a vastly superior PS3/360 Indy game, probably the one planned for the Euphoria engine.

Like Owen says, its probably alot of fun and will look fine in motion. I find it comical that Wii owners have suddenly become graphic whores.

I'm not being a graphics whore but really, those are the PSP graphics and will most definitely be carried over to the Wii version, albeit with a bit more lighting and a few other token effects. All I'm really getting at is that I don't see why the Wii should have to settle for games which are basically being ported, graphics-wise, over from the PSP. PS2 is fine because there are some good looking titles that have come over.

Perhaps it'll play well but the whole whip cracking on the wii-mote has me skeptical. Didn't they let you do that in Lego Indiana Jones? I can't remember cause it was so awful but I believe it did. Obviously, in this more work will go into the controls but I'm still remaining skeptical. I'll wait for impressions/hands-on articles before I pass judgement.

I hate graphics whores but this to me in not being a grahpics whore its just plain unacceptable. This game looks repulisive and unless things change or it looks much better in. Here is a screenshot from the N64 Indy game. Yep N64 two generations ago...

The thing is that it's not because we're graphics whores. It's just following the simple logic that a lack of effort on one department speaks for the effort made on the project on the whole. Ergo, this doesn't look incredibly promising.

Pretty much how I see things. If there's a lack of graphics then there's a lack of gameplay etc.

Is being a graphics whore better N64 graphics on the Wii? Nah.

I'm not sure what to think really. Graphically it looks like a PS1 game with an attempt at making them look better without trying too well.

If this is coming to the PSP as well, why use a same game engine to bring it out on both formats. Could at least make it better looking and stuff.

I'll wait for actual gaming footage before final judgement.

I'm sorry, but when you're far enough in development to release a detailed press release along with screenshots, have the largest Nintendo magazine in the world run a cover feature on your game and are planning a Spring 2009 release, there isn't really much time to bring your game forwards by two graphical generations.

The game may turn out to be fantastic, and I'll probably buy it since I love Indiana Jones, but it's blindingly obvious that LucasArts have put absolutely no effort into the graphics.

Not until we get a statement from LucasArts to confirm it. I don't see why you'd release PSP shots of a game which has a press release focusing almost exclusively on the Wii version, though.

Is there a trailer for this, or just the screens? Maybe I skimmed over this too fast and missed the trailer. Yeah, they do look more like PSP screens, but it could also just be bad screenshots. A trailer would clear this up.

Or, they could have fucked up and added the PSP screens to the Wii press release. Wouldn't be the first time the wrong screens have been attached to a press release.

I think he's right really. "The kind of story that fans expect." Didn't realize that "the staff of kings" referred to Mozes' staff he used to split the Red Sea with. Fits right into the bigger picture of Indy quests, just like the Holy Grail (and unlike a certain crystal skull).

I got it yesterday. It's not a good game. It's very linear - move from A to B and then copy the motion controls shown on screen, move from A to B, copy the motion controls shown on screen, etc; so there's not much of a challenge to be had here. There are fist fights to be had along the way, which work well, and gun fights, which are not so good, as these work like they did in 'Disaster Day of Crisis', but the enemies here do not move and usually have explosive right next to them for you to shoot. There's only 6 'areas' and the game can easily be completed in 3-4 hours. Graphics are solid - much better than what we've seen in the images online. There are some good ideas but they're wasted e.g instead of controlling Indy while he runs across a bridge and dodge's falling debris you watch an FMV of it instead, and when you come to the bottom of a mountain or other area where it looks like you'll be spending some quality time using your platforming skills to climb up it, you're 'treated' to an FMV once again. Puzzle-wise there are 3 or 4 sections where you have to put your thinking cap on and these do feel Zelda-esque, but it's not enough. A real shame. :sad

The DS version is fantastic though! Great gameplay and presentation, it's fun and the story is told better - no idea what was going on in the Wii version at times.

I've put some serious time in thise one, and while I understand the gripes I've heard about (unskippable cut-scenes and tutorials, somewhat unresponsive controls,...), I find this game nowhere as bad as I've read here and there. Am I really the only one rather *gasp* enjoying this?

True, there is a steep learning curve for the fighting-controls, but after some training I landed the punches I wanted to. Well, most of the time anyway. ;)

The trick is not to waggle. You have to use small, controlled motions. Forward for jab, up for uppercut and inwards for jab. No big motions, mind. Same for the whip. I can grab the head, waist or feet whenever I want to.
I've heard terrible things about the second level in which you control a plane. I LOVED that level and thought the controls were great. Finished it without crashing and was disappointed it was over so quickly.

The graphics are pretty good! Way better than I expected. The voice-acting isn't too shabby either.

My gripes are: unskippable cut-scenes, unskippable tutorials (not an issue once you've passed them), not the most reliable of controls (but when it finally clicks, it really works), very linear (though there are several approaches to a situation on some occasions, e.g. go through door or sneek in from behind the bar) and some bugs 'n glitches. But I'v eplayed far worse games. Far worse. And if I have to choose between this and Tomb Raider on Wii, Indy wins with a knockout.

It's not a classic, far from it, and it's more Crystal Skull than Last Crusade, but it's a piece of entertainment, and it's true to the Indy-spirit. Just don't expect an Uncharted.

€60 is way too much, though, compared the other games outthere and their prices.

One thing that I found 'funny': The enemy are without a doubt the Nazi's, yet in the game the word Nazi is never used, nor the Swastika-symbol. I can unstand they want to remove the imagery (though Emperors Tomb had them), but they still talk about the Germans, their Führer, Third Reich, etc. Why not call a cat a cat when it's so obvious they mean Nazi's?
