I'm going, but all I want to see is the Superman Returns teaser trailer on a cinema screen with surround, even though it's supposedly showing during Smallville tomorrow on the WB.

Yes I realise this response makes me even more nerdy than if I had said 'yes I'm going, I like Harry Potter'.

I prefer the new asian girl, she's so hot. My mate was going to audition for that role but then she bottled out for whatever reason when she got there - probably the fact that she never acted in her life...

Don't really mind the movies i haven't read the books to hate them, and when they were on sky movies during my revision period they kept me preoccupied, need to see number 3 though still is that out on DVD yet? not that i'll buy it but i'm sure its worth a rental at least....right?

Was going to be 12:01am Friday morning but someone who was supposed to be going couldn't make that time, so we said we'd go Friday night, which they cancelled on once we'd got tickets.

The girls look cute (but fleur actress seems to have a lot more years than in the book:(), but I still hate potter movies. It looks like they are always running to make all the "interesting" scenes of the books.... And there are plenty of things that they change in the films. The books are great (and the 4th is probably the best) but the films as a book adaptation are crap.... just a good fantasy movie to save all the money losses that are hapening in the cinema industry.

I couldn't wait until the 10pm showing I'd got tickets for last night, so went to an 11am one as well before that.

Feelings about the film are pretty mixed. If you've read the book, like me you'll probably be a bit dissapointed at some of the changes.

Special effects are good once again, the acting is better, shame there's not more from Snape and Sirius. There's no Mrs Weasley at all. The Quidditch World Cup scene is a bit of a gip, it sets up a fantastic looking stadium, the teams make their entrances and then that's it, none of the match is shown.

The film has to get an extra point or two for uses of the words "mental" and Ron telling Harry to piss off when he gets in a bit of a grump with him.

In one of the previous films I recall finding Ron's twin brother's a bit annoying, in this one though they're quite amusing and put to better use.

The first showing I went to was pretty strange, some kid (I couldn't tell if it was a boy or a girl) started a trivia quiz with the audience before the film started. He/she was getting people to answer questions and then ask each other them, I just sat thinking that I couldn't ever picture that happening at home.

Anyhow, the film's good, but like POA feels rushed and a bit confused in places, it's funnier than other ones have been and Voldermort's return is done well.

If you're a Potter fan I'm sure you'll enjoy it, if not then why the hell would you go and watch it anyhow?

Leave it alone, he's a nice kid who fell on his feet getting this part. He does make a great Harry Potter, and he'll no doubt be around for a while yet so get used to it. I'm tired of people shitting on his acting - makes me feel a bit sorry for him, actually. Imagine how you'd feel if you were in his shoes.

meh i would have prefered the guy from my family to be HP, then to that no talent bastard,

furthermore is it me or is the Dumbledor in the movies abit more physical and angry?, in the last films then he is in the books?

i.e

spoiler

when screams out HP name after it came out from the goblet, and in the scene later he physically tried to beat HP up,

end spoiler

he wasn't like that in the books

Just got back from the film and I absolutely loved it. GOF is my favourite of the books, and I wasn't expecting the film to do it justice at all, but I'm pleased to say it did. Good pacing, and just the right amount of seriousness (e.g. reaction to Cedric dying) and comedy (Hagrid touching up Madame Maxime; Moaning Myrtle, etc.). Best film of the yeare so far for me.

I agree with CompSci that Dumbledore just wasn't right in the film, though. He's a bit too grumpy for my liking - I just picture him being how he looks on the back of the first book - kindly and endearing, yet wise.

Well I saw it last night and I think that it was good. I really don't think that the movie made it clear why Harry and Ron fell out with each other or even how and why the three friends seemed to be more distant, well it didn't make it as clear or as deep as the books so that was one bad point I suppose. Taking a step further into their friendship wouldn't have hurt.

The acting was ok at some bits and good in others but still, the level of acting didn't ruin the film.

I didn't like the big eye-path they gave mad-eye moody. The swiveling eye was more of a normal looking eye which moved around alot not a big eye patch I think.

Although, overall, I enjoyed the movie. 7.4/10

I don't know if you guys saw the new Superman trailer when you saw Potter, but it's looking like they should just rename the film "Jesusman". I'm not all that into the mythology of Superman, thinking him one of the most boring and unoriginal superheroes there are.

Anyhow, the trailer has his dad saying "I'm sending my only son to save humanity!" while Superman is shown flying over the Earth looking all Superman-ish.

Another trailer that irritated me a bit was for M. Night Shyamalan's new film, Lady In The Water. Not only is the guy obsessed with having twists and silly things in all his films, now he needs them in his trailers!

He should drop the made up and pretentious "Night" from his name and maybe just call himself Twisty McGee or something.

Just got back from the film. Not really that good, there were a couple of funny parts. I felt that the film in whole was too rushed. They didn't feature anything apart from the tournament. Wow, I laughed hard at shitty little weak Voldemort in that snivelling little rodent man's arms. What a disappointment the dark lord turned out to be. He didn't even have a proper face.

[Edit] More observations:

-The maze segment at the end was a bit shitty.
-Moody's eye was hilarious.
-Radcliffe was very, very good in the film, as were all the others.
-Cho was a funny scottish chinese girl. Most bizarre.
-The battle between Harry and Voldemort was gay.
-Voldemort was totally a gay.
-I always thought Harry would have a bigger reaction to finding out Snape was a death-eater.
-Ron was as funny as always.
-The twins were funnier than I remember them.
-Everyone had cool hair.
-Hagrid is a pervert.
-Dumbeldore is grumpy.
-There was hardly any Draco, which was surprising.
-TRIGGER.

That is all.

saw an advert for Pokemon XD before the film came on, it was packed so lots of people saw it.
the film was like everyone said rushed. they missed out the world cup at the start, that was good in the book.
great movie anyway, especially when the camera went on the girls from that other school, when they were just coming into the hall

My friend and I did remark on how much Fleur's rack and arse was being shown, not that we complained.

Wow, I laughed hard at shitty little weak Voldemort in that snivelling little rodent man's arms. What a disappointment the dark lord turned out to be. He didn't even have a proper face.
Damn right, I thought he lacked a nose just because he was weak [Stuck on Quirrel's face etc] but no, I was expecting to recognize Ralph Fiennes. He even sounded like Richard O'Brian I thought at one point and I thought they could've casted him instead.

I'm sure the American print of the film is different to the UK one. Because in the version I saw she was lacking both.

... Oh wait, I was checking Ron out.

(Not really, I stand by my first comment).

I thought Voldemort was pretty sweet. I mean, if he'd have been a fucking dragon or something that would have been lame. He was cooly evil, and that's how he comes across in the books.

Stop complaining you fuckers!

They can't get everything in there. Trigger's Hitler was brilliant.

Are talkin about fleur and emma or the forum members?
I'm 14 im allowed by law to say that they're fit. I dont want naked pictures, just close'ups of.. well face mainly because looking at an ass covered by a robe is hardly enthralling is it?

I won't deny they were both very pretty girls, but as a near 21 year old male I don't consider it very appropriate to paw at the thought of their bodies. Their delicious bodies, like ripening fruits. I JUST WANT TO PICK THEM.

And Ben, Voldermort was a rambling nutcase. I half expected him to reveal his master plan to Harry whilst he was being held by the... stone thing, then to slowly shoot a laser from his bling wand upward between his legs. I'm not buying that LOVE shit either, Harry totally didn't die because he had to live for the story to work.

In regards to the people moaning that they "cut out that scene", cry more. I think they did an admirable job in cramming the book into a 2 and a half hour film, if they had added anything else people would start dying due to it's length. I really liked it, i'll probably go and see it again (some other friends are going to see it) next week.

I do agree with Dumbledore being a bit too angry for my tastes, as well as the Quidditch World Cup being way too short.

And the final task was rubbish, where were all the monsters?

-Cho was a funny scottish chinese girl. Most bizarre.
-The battle between Harry and Voldemort was gay.

Cho was awesome, she looked even better in the film than she does in pictures. Surprisingly, there are a lot of fit Asian looking Scottish girls (there's one in my year at school! ;))

That battle actually happened like that, virtually the same as the book.

2 years, 4 months and 26 days ;)

Well, if you're waiting for HP fans to photoshop her head onto the bodies of naked females, I would say you're right.

edit - too late! one of the results is a poor attempt

Although, I would say she's not a bad actress too. Better than Radcliffe anyway. Wasn't paying as much attention to Rupert, but he seems comfortable with 'bloody hell' and 'piss off'.

She's actually quite a good actress, probably the best out of the lot of them.

There are already count-down sites until her 18th birthday!
