wow that not good since NGC magazine sells LESS...so could that be gone soon?
Also that thread mentions the official Nintendo magazine license is up for grabs.
In the age of the internet I doubt we will have many gaming magazines in the near future...

NGC should stay as it's published by Future as their pretty damn stable and have been stealing Paragons magazines over time so they can set up a monopoly on the gaming magazine business which means they can set prices high and we are forced to buy them if we want magazines as there are no alternatives...
Or are they just saying it's shut down and REVO will be launched around the launch date as that is what I suspect. Probably pretty hard to fill a Gaemcube magazine when it's basically dead minue s a few shinninh releases.
I stopped buying CUBE AGES ago, purely because it has hardly any good information in it! and there just isn't enough CUBE games i'm interested in now!
I really like Gamesmaster though! :)

Which joke is that?
I have to admit laughing at their (NOMs) Verdict comment for Donkey Kong country 3 for the GBA:
The appeal was always the graphics. Be honest. Now the looks have faded, you can see she was never that interesting in the first place. Fat bitch.

Shame to see the number of Nintendo magazines dwindling, yet we seem to have 5 or 6 magazines popping up for the Xbox 360, a console which doesnt have a user base yet.

I got bored reading all of the official Nintendo mags years ago. I just read Egde and Games TM for the better quality articles. Anything I read in NOM, NGC or CUBE is just the stuff from the net but a month late. I'm not really fussed about games magazines unless they give you a demo disc, which Nintendo one's never do. Demos in the future are likely to be done through the Rev. download service, so I deffinately won't be buying these magazines.

It was about Weepinbell!!!....Think about it
HHMMNN This gets me thinking, Why don't we have a Handheld gaming magazine, I'm sure there is a market for one. One that covers GBA, DS, PSP and to whatever extent they deem neccesary, Gizmondo.
I only read Edge for the interesting articles and, well, its a well designed magazine, the best out there. It just looks damn pretty and everytime I see it I have to buy it!
GamesTM never appealed to me in the slightest. I bought it once to see what it is like and never really enjoyed it.

Yeah, I reckon there's definitely room in the market for a handheld magazine. I always used to buy GB Advance, Total Advance, etc. when they were about.
I've only recently started buying magazines like CUBE, NOM and NGC because I bought a GameCube to go with my DS and GBA. Didn't bother buying them before because half the mag wasn't relevant to me!
I also picked up the last ever issue of CUBE today so will post game scores later when I get home from work for those interested.

CUBE was awful. I won't miss it.
CUBE was awful. I won't miss it.
It's not so much the point that you didn't like it, it is what the magazine stands for and what it means to Nintendo. When there are so many other magazines for PS2 and Xbox and GC has so few, its a crying shame when one of them have to end.

Didnt read it, but it was one of those magazines i'd glance at and think was popular, so its quite a shock its discontinued.
So because I didnt read it, i wont miss it. No added comments coz i dunno whether it sucked or not.

I guess it's a shame that another Nintendo mag has been discontinued, but let's face it, CUBE was pretty poor wasn't it? Hopefully the far superior N64/NGC (of which I am the proud owner of every issue) will continue though.

Where's the love for CUBE gone. I for one will seriously miss it. Out of all the Cube mags , this was the only one whose reveiws I trusted , so who to believe now.
I have never been able to get on with NGC , and don't even get me started on NOM.
Farewell Cube , its been a good journey , and there are some of us who will miss you.

I used to read it every month but once they started to include DVDs and cheat disks, the maga zine went down hill.
I dont really read games magazines anymore as the internet is quicker and cheaper (i dont pay the bills!) EDGE is the only one i get now.

Not confirmed, just a wild rumour on the Gamesradar forums, stemming from reports that Future has acquired the official Nintendo license. Whether they will continue to publish both NOM and NGC, or merge them into one is unknown.
I bought the last issue of CUBE today, out of respect. It seems to have been quite a sudden decision as they are still advertising the next issue. It's doubly ashame, as next months issue actually looks quite good.
Oh well. Bye CUBE.

NGC isn't going to finish just yet - I found a thread on Gamesradar and Geraint from NGC says:
"Seeing as I can't be bothered to reply to the PM's I've had about this, I thought I may as well post it up on here..
No, NGC is not closing down - it's business as usual. Not sure where the rumour started, but it isn't true."
Although the CUBE team didn't know they were out of jobs until the last minute so you never know!

NOM are finishing? Where did you hear that from?!
NOM aren't finishing, their liscence is just up for grabs. There'll still be a NOM, but possibly by a different publishing company.
Sad to see CUBE go, but guys - NGC is totally better.
Seeing the review scores from the latest issue I couldn't disagree more.

iv collected CUBE since issue 15 (originally only because i was collecting Total Advance when it was cancelled and the team moved to CUBE) and haven't missed one, yes it's gone downhill recently but that's only because there was so little to cover, there's just not enough going on in the world of gamecube anymore :nono:
they did mention a few months ago that big changes were afoot (they even changed their DVDs to a much better version with excellent visuals and menus etc) but i doubt this was part of the plan :( i think it's numbers plummeted too, no longer was it boasting "best selling unofficial nintendo magazine" so maybe NGC now owns that mantle (though in fairness EDGE doesn't bring in much more, about 31,000 to CUBE's 22,000 and its in no fear of being axed). it'd be good to see the team reunite for a revolution magazine next year but the way things are going that won't happen until nearly the summertime, although i did think there was plenty in the world of GBA and DS for a magazine at the mo... obviously not...
i hope NGC continues alongside a new, more adult-orientated NOM, can't wait to see what happens...
well, farewell CUBE, it's been a blast :D

:heh: I never really did like Cube.... but it just seemed as if they were putting they're act back together, like with their new look DVD. Shame all that efforts gone to waste.... And with NOM goin over to Future (NOOOO!!!), I think I'll just go for Edge now...

Dunno if anyone subscribed to CUBE and hasn't received a letter from Highbury yet but I was reading on another forum that you can switch your subscription to either GamesTM, Xbox 360 magazine or Go Play, or get a refund for the remaining issues.

Hi everyone,
I was wondering if anyone still had a complete set of the Mario Magnets that were given away with NOM and the Stars Catalogue some time ago? If so, I was wondering if you would be good enough to scan a picture of them all and post it up for everyone (if you have a scanner of course) If you dont know what I mean here is a link to an completed auction for them:-
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8233819902&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&rd=1
Unfortunately the pic in the auction isnt really clear enough for my purposes.
The reason I ask is because I unfortunately I never managed to get a set :red: , but I really like the pics so I though if I could get a scan of them I thought that I could print them out onto some sticker paper, cut them up, and hey presto! I have myself a set of Mario Stickers to adorn my games cupboard!
I dont know if this is really the right place to be putting this, so I hope its ok, I didnt really want to make a new thread for it. Thanks everyone :)

I have every issue since 11th. But I forgot to get the last one. Yawn... this sucks, I guess I'll have to start searching it from second hand shops.
Btw. Are you sure it's cancelled? Couldn't they just being changing the name for the Revolution.
EDIT:
I just found this: http://www.britishgaming.co.uk/?p=161
This means that I'll have to wait for some Revo mags and choose from them.

Nope, it's definitely been cancelled - it happened in November. Some of the CUBE staff posted on another forum about all the details.
CUBE was published by Highbury who are in severe financial difficulties - think they're on the verge of going bankrupt.
You might be able to find a copy of the last issue (#52) if you look in newsagents - they might still have it on the shelves.
