The season has been set up. Matches will be played at 12:30pm starting from next Friday. I'll set up a cup to begin on the following Tuesday.

Friendlies can be played today (probably too late to set up now) and on Tuesday.

Domstercool, you must be sitting on a fair amount of cash - you should spend it on a forward. Your current ones are rubbish! Get a 19 year old 5-rated player (or better if you can) and then just spend all the rest of your cash on training and win bonuses! I wouldn't use a player with a rating of less than four, and only a four if they were young and had potential.

It's a management game. You make your own team and you manage the team, including training a player so their form increases and stuff like that. You also make press releases which gives you some monies if you make one each week. The rules on the website tell you a lot more.

It's pretty fun. Although you probably won't join the League until the end of this season (October.)

Otter and McManaman (2 best players) are on the transfer market, but they'll go for a hell of a lot of money. McManaman is worth 14mil and Otter 7mil or something, they'll go for more than that most likely.

Keep everyone's form high so that you get a good change report (very important) and over time the updates will make your team much better.
An old skilled player here and there is good too. Put out a team with an average age of less than 26 and you'll be penalised.

Honest! The rules say:

You can see the average age of the players in the line-up on the player squad page. This is shown for both the defence (goalkeeper and defenders) and the offence (midfielders and forwards) but also for all the players in the line-up (reserves are not included). The average age should be at least 26 years for the team to be able to perform 100%. If the average age is less than 26 years then the team/team part will perform poorer than if the average age was 26 years or more. The lower the average age is the bigger the performance reduction will be. It has no additional effect on the team if the average age is over 26 years. As long as the average age on the selected players in the team/team part is over 26 years the team/team part will perform 100%.

Note that it is the performance of the team/team part that is affected if the average age is less than 26 years. The players' individual performances are not affected by the average age. This means that the reduction of the performance viewed in a bigger picture will not be as big as the figures in the examples below. But the players' grades after the match will be affected by the team's/team part's performance. How big the performance reduction will be depends on how much lower the average age is in the team/team part.

If one team part has an average age higher than the other the one with the less average age will gain a little age and the other will lose some age. This means that if you have a team part, for example the defence with an average age over 26 years it will compensate the lack of age in the other team part to some extension but there will still be some reduction on the "young" team part's performance. Important to think of is that it is only the players that are on the field that counts. Players on the bench does not count. If there are substitutions during the match the average age will be recalculated so the average age is always counted on the players that actually are on the field.

Well, the rules say that if a league doesn't have 6 members 3 weeks after it is created, it is automatically deleted. I don't know what sort of rating you need to join another league, the settings on my league are that anybody can join.

Everyone is in the cup, but to get it down to 16 players for a traditional cup layout quite a few of us aren't playing in the first round.
There are 22 teams, 6 need to be knocked out and the lowest 12 are chosen to battle. The top 10 teams don't play in the first round. Noodle is the only top league side that is (biggest loser ion the top league).

In other news, my 20 yr old 6 rated superstar defender has been seriously injured by cube and is out until the 25th of June. Great! His form dropped immediately from 16 (cool!) to 0 (not cool!). The only consolation is that the season should be long enough to make recovery just about possible.

Spend loads of money on training your players, make sure their form stays high. Before every match buy the match report for the team you're playings last game and choose your tactics depending on that. I found it was good to change formation each match so your opponent will have no idea what you're doing so doesn't know what to defend or attack against.

It was a 2-2 aggregate from both matches, but you scored a goal in the second match, which, to you, was an away match.

Goals scored in an away fixture are counted as double when the aggregate result is a draw.

This season is something of a... step up. I never seem to have enough money for new players, not that I know where to start. Winning my first time round seemed great at the time, but realistically it just means I've been thrown in with the experienced players without any experience of my own. With that 0-5 against Odwin, it's clear his veteran status gives him many advantages. Looking at the skill levels of his players, it almost seems unfair for us to be in the same league.
