Am I the only one to enjoy this new feature? I just don't like how crappy the emoticons look, I'd rather have text-based ones. It's sort of annoying to have all the annoying people you've blocked on MSN messaging you too.

I use Opera so no Facebook chat for me! Which goes to say how vital this feature is.. not very.

also, text based emoticons: just replace : with = for eyes. boom.

I think the chat is kinda cool, i suppose...I love the fact people who bullied me all through my school years are trying to add me..it's like Fuck-Off! lol!

OR people who couldn't even give a toss who i was, most of em are on facebook to get there friends list as high as possible to achievement something...which i must be missing...I only add people i actually like..lol

Yeah, the thing to do..which i have..is to just put your name on there and nothing else. I have nothing about me, my hometown is not the hometown i'm in now, no birth-date...nothing.

No personal details, just my name. :)

I hated it after I got my Facebook account. EVERYONE destroys their profile by widening them up and adding bland backgrounds that not only make things very hard to read, but give me a headache whenever I look at them (unlike my signature).

So back on topic; I noticed this new feature this morning and didn't think much of it. Started seeing everyone's status involving some form of "so now I'm never going to do this essay. Thanks facebook chat!". Even a few new groups about it already... but I didn't see the fuss..

NOW I see the fuss. Three people talking - I even forget what I'm doing on there - then I get a notification alert which is pretty neat. At the moment with my shoddy internet connection it's actually a little more reliable chatting on this than it is on msn. Only problem is that you can't ignore people, but meh. I wonder how long it is before facebook plonks some adverts in the chat tool too.

Well it's all script-based so I doubt they'll be able to squeeze anything non-text based (unless you "pop-out" the chat window). But it's not like I'd have a serious problem with it, it doesn't even seem likely to happen as I only get two ads per page MAX.
