...that is mindblowingly ridiculous. I was already apalled to hear of the 169 euro price tag, which I thought meant I would still be buying the game, at a stretch, for about £135.

Now I won't be getting it. There's no way in hell I'm paying £180 for this. I could get a Wii for that price, and this is just one game.

Basically you make jack shit savings by buying the lot, which is rediculous. I knew people were being a bit optomistic thinking the whole lot would be £100, but even the bloody drums and game are gonna set people back £120!

Thing is if you think about it. You're getting the guitar, like Guitar Hero's guitar. That costs £70 for the guitar and game. So you could say the guitar'd cost £30/40 itself. If you say each of the instruments cost that £30 then £90/100 would seem right. But then a microphone is hardly worth £30.
Still, the game should be bundles with it no matter what and that just shows how much they really don't care about the consumer. It's all about the money, it always has and will be.

The buttons...they're really weird to adjust to after playing the GH guitars for so long.

The drums are different to how I thought they'd be in that they pop out slightly - you'll see what I mean when you get them O(I thought mine were broken at first but it's a good design, stops you from cracking the rest of it).

The Microphone has little weight to it, but you can tell it's going to be good enough.

Now all I need is the game! My posty is being sooo slooowww today..

I can confirm that HMV will be doing the 150 quid deal ( Game+Instruments+2100 points card ) instore as I popped in today. It was great as they had it all set up and the staff were jamming away on it. The guy singing was actually quite good and playing the drums looked awesome. I really wouldnt mind snapping it up but im still unsure whether I wanna spend that kinda of money on 1 game.

1. How the hell do i get the instruments home from town? That box is huge! I've got a 4 mile bus trip followed by a one mile walk!

2. My 360 is away to die. Drive tray jammed last week followed by it eating GoW, RROD'd today and now it makes a wierd grinding noise every time i turn it on.

I know neither of those stop me buying the game, but spending £150 and going to all that trouble to get the game home just to have the console die on me is NOT my idea of fun!

I got my instruments today. A heavily tatooed man stormed into my hall and dumped a half open cardboard box. Great care taken with my package! I didnt complain because I wasnt going to play it without the game anyway (thats right! its not coming till tommorow!) and the box itself was still factory sealed.
The box is huge and took me 30 minutes to set up everything. Now just the game!

It's only expensive if you haven't bought Guitar Hero. I had 2 guitars already from GH 2 and 3, so I just bought drums (woo game points!) and the game. Certainly worth it even if you just get the drums. The drumming is flipping brilliant.

Went round my mates earlier to play it and...wow! Amazing. Drumming is so much fun, and not as hard as I thought. I was forseeing myself having problems co-ordinating the pedal but it's really not that bad. My ankle was very tired after a long session though.

Also, why is there no World Tour online co-op?

THIS GAME IS AWESOME.

I'm actually a drummer and I'm finding it hard on anything above Medium on Drums. I can breeze through the guitars on Expert and vocals, if I know the song, if not, medium or hard.

The World Tour is so damn awesome, though I think when it starts telling you you have to play on harder difficulties, that's when it starts to get a bit slow, for people like my parents who don't want to advance past medium it kinda brings the game to a halt.

But that's a minor gripe. Everything in this game is done so well.

But for one hundred and EIGHTY pounds you could buy a Fender Squier beginner guitar and bass, a second-hand starter drum kit and a cheapo microphone - and ACTUALLY HAVE A BAND. You could also buy an Xbox 360 and cheap game, or a Wii, or twelve hundred Chomp bars. It's simply ludicrous that we're being asked to pay so much for what's essentially a set of toy instruments. Btw, another thought that crossed my mind; anyone tried Boom Boom Rocket with the drums? I'm thinking it will basically be Rock Band minus the pedal. Also the beat will probably be a bit different since your effectively playing a different part of a song. Still, could be awesome.

It's not really that for me, more of a case of just a tiny bit too much. If they dropped the RRP to £130-£150 then i'd pop in to Gamestation, trade in a few games and leave with Rock Band.

I'd pay £80-£100 in cash quite happily. Heck, i'd even be happy with £80-£90 for the drums + game. Im not prepared to fork out £130-£150 in cash though, not a chance.

I have the same problem with Guitar Hero. Only got TDWDTJ and Raining Blood left to do, finished every other song on medium. Hard is just too much of a step up, it's not fun and there really isn't any incentive for me to do it.
Maybe i'd be more motivated if playing hard unlocked more songs?

I'd rather download from the PAL store because it's easier to put funds in and my slight OCD comes into play. If they do a new version of Rock Band will you be able to access the DLC from the new game? If you can I'm guessing it won't recognise American DLC. I don't really mind waiting till August since I'm sure the songs on the disk will keep me busy.

Also I picked the game up for £20 so its not too big a deal buying a PAL copy as well.

Sometimes I think the RB guitar doesn't pick up alt strumming as well as the GH one, and the buttons are actually so loud in their clickyness that sometimes they put me off my playing and put me out of time.

He bought the game on its own and brought round his GH II guitar, sometimes I used my GH II guitar and I used the X360 headset as a microphone. What with not knowing much other than the music I like, we played mainly In Bloom, Celebrity Skin and Dani California, as well as some ones on Band World Tour I have no idea about.

It even seems to make singing better. At first I was nervous and laughing a bunch, but then I was happy to sing in front of my friend (who was mostly playing guitar, or at least bass when I was on the axe!) and it sounded better. I was singing on Easy because it made sense to, but I got 100 percent on Dani California's vocals. Woo!

The problem is, what do I do now? I want to buy the bundle and game when it's dropped in price, but I like it so much! I can't see myself buying the game now and getting the microphone later though, and I'm not sure I'll even bother with the drum set if that's what I do. I'll probably just wait!

Now all I'm waiting for is the UPS man to come round. It said it was on time, scheduled for today. They even took it off the xbox supprt website so i can't check where it is anymore. Still, this game is brilliant. The guitar parts are piece of piss, unsurprisingly, and I've enjoyed the 10+ hours I've had playing it earlier today.

Might be doing multiplayer later, that will be marvellous. :grin:

You can sing a whole octave higher or lower, so you don't need to strain your voice as long as you hit the right note.

Completed Vocals on easy, will do medium later (when there's nobody around to hear me). Now time to finish the Guitar on medium!

Got this yesterday, played all night :D loved it.

Firstly, does anyone else have problems getting all the instruments to turn on? I've decided to just disregard that USB hub as I think it might be the problem. Often I couldn't get the instruments to turn on unless I unplugged them and plugged them back in, lame.

Anyway, onto the game. Played the World Tour, I was on guitar, jayseven on drums and my g/f doing vocals. Was a hell of a lot of fun. Although part way through I got a bit annoyed that I was basically playing a flashy guitar hero and everyone else was on something new, even though I was the one who paid :/ but, we had a little swap around and then I went back to guitar so it was all cool.

During the swap around I went on vocals and got 100% on Still Alive, earning an achievement for my g/f :heh: (because logging everyone in and out is annoying and slow and annoying).

Anyway, lots of fun :D the European songs that nobody's heard of were a bit tough vocally though.

I recieved them both on Thursday...

If you ordered yours over the bank holiday I would assume that they lost the game in the post as things get well and truly clusterfucked in the post due to that one day of non-work.

It sucks I know but thats usually how it works when ordering over a Bank Holiday. :/

I was this | | close to buying it today. My brother said they were selling it for £120 in Asda, went down there and it was just the instruments. They then tried to convince me it was the cheapest price available (of which it isn't). I'm tempted to just buy it off play right now but I'm caught in two minds.

I completed the Guitar Solo Tour on Expert today, and unlocked the achievements for all 4 difficulties!
That's awesome, means I don't have to stroll through the other, less fun, difficulties. :grin:

Got some DLC as well, got Crushcrushcrush and two QOTSA songs. All very fun.

Anybody played "Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld" yet? It's hilarious on vocals! :bowdown:

I'm now stuck on Green Grass And High Tides on Expert, specifically about 40 percent of the way through where there's a bunch of notes, something like YGRRYG, and it keeps repeating really fast.

I'm not sure when to save my overdrive, because if I don't use it earlier the stuff ahead I can't pick up (since my meter is full). But if I don't use the overdrive before that hard bit, I'm left with my audience love quite low! I'd always use it beforehand, but the if I miss the overdrive notes I'll have to restart (there's just no way I can complete the solo without it). Gah!

Yes you can, you can get Dr. Acula's cape from the Goth Garb store I believe. Quite pricey though.

Started Band World Tour last night. We're "Original Boosh", I'm the guitarist (obviously) and my brother is teh drummer. We are rather awesome.

Downloaded "More Than A Feeling" yesterday. It's great doing the solo and not have to strum every note. :grin:
