I just reformatted my hard drive (finally!) and everything seems to have gone well. However when i move a window or scroll downwards in a window the image breaks and slowly changes the whole screen. It reminds me of a really poor computer with too much going on, however it was all fine before and i can see no reason why it would do this. Its very annoying, anyone got any ideas?

Sounds like your graphics drivers are indeed not installed, or incorrectly installed.

It could also be to do with Solar flares or static build up. Always remember to wear an anti-static wrist strap when reinstalling Windows.

:awesome:

It's probably just me. Years ago when I was just starting as a pc techie my boss would always moan that I was not wearing an ESD wrist strap even when doing something trivial like checking a ide cable, so it became a running joke about wearing them.

but when you reinstall windows you dont need to open the computer ;)

and touching a radiator usually does the job btw :)

might not be graphics drivers - it's more likely to be motherboard chipset drivers if its a fresh install - most windows installs have a basic graphics driver that will do a more than adequete job.
