So, both Wii Fit and MK Wii are going to automatically update our Wii's with new channels. Both stat channels. This is alongside new applications like My Nintendo Channel, and the rumoured TV Listings Channel and whatever else Nintendo have got up their R&D sleeves. Has Nintendo actually forgotten that its under provisioned the Wii with half a Gig of memory and only provided 48 Channels on the Wii Menu? It seems so.

I'm all for new applications, and i love the idea of being able to track progress in a new channel, however, I don't see why Nintendo is being so cack handed with stats logging and duplicating channels left right and centre (surely, these won't be the only two stat channels throughout Wii's life). Surely these stats could easily be incorporated into one spendid 'My Records Channel' detailing not only the stats for these games, but also future games, and perhaps, if technically possible past games.

Personally, I've got precious few channel spaces left after forking out for VC titles, and Nintendo's other applications. Surely, surely, someone, somewhere within Nintendo has thought, 'why don't we streamline these channels'?

My example, upon selecting the channel, you could be taken directly to a list of your games, choose Wii Fit, MKWii, or whatever, and that opens up the set of stats (and in Wii Fits case, the weight management option) for that particular game. Its one extra click, but will obviously look cleaner and simpler.

I don't understand the logic in seperating two similar channels. Maybe this idea is straying just a little too close to the whole Xbox Live thing for Nintendo, but i can't for toffee understand why that'd prove such a bad thing.

When you click on the channel to start the game, there could of been an extra option like 'Start' 'Channel' and 'Back'.

Though I don't mind having an extra channel for stats though, means I don't need to stick in the game when I want to look at them.

IS really annoying they could easily have incorporated it either as one channel and as a competitor for the likes of the 360 achievements system, but surely if they are just stats for individual games they could have been incorporated into the games themselves?

I see the idea of making the stats available when the disks not in, but this could have been incorporated into one channel, regardless of the differences in the actual stats involved in each game... a sub channel almost.

How would it work there are diffrent games?

A sub channel. All i'm talking about is having one channel as an entry channel. From there you're taken to a list of your games. Select one from list, and then your taken to the relevent details. All i'm asking for is a 'hub channel'.

Ah I know what you mean but Nintendo wants to do it this way.
