I've just weighed myself today, and it turns out I'm now 10st 7. That probably doesn't seem like much, but I've NEVER been above 9 and a half stone in all my life.
I've always been a thin person, ever since I was a kid. I suppose I've got quite a feminine shape, it's slim, but that's just who I've always been. Over the past year, I've had quite a few problems, and some of them affected my eating. At times, I was just too stressed to worry about food, and at others I just didn't have the time or money to worry about such a thing.
In the summer I noticed I was smaller than I normally was, so I decided to try and go the other way. I tried eating, but I'd get full too quickly. In the past, I tried at several points to eat more consistenly, but I always seemed to keep the same shape. I never seemed to get bigger or smaller, so I just ate when I was hungry, and that was that.
When the summer was over, I was listening to a couple of girly friends talking, saying how they wanted big rugby blokes to come and sweep them off their feet, and I thought to myself "ffs, why can't I be like that?" I got a bit angry at them for thinking it (in my head, never outloud) and I got angry with myself for being small.
Suddenly, I gained an appetite. I'd eat, then two hours later I'd feel hungry so I'd have to eat, again. I came down the stairs one day to eat my breakfast and my housemate said I looked different, then somebody overheard and said the same thing. This spurned me on.
I bought a shirt about a month ago. I was wearing it earlier and I realised it was pretty damn tight, and the same for the new jeans I've bought. My tops are starting to feel tighter too, around the shoulders and waist.
The question is, how did this happen? Can you really 'will' yourself to be bigger?

Yay for Fat Flinky! I joke. I'm heavier than you and I'm not fat (my BMI's normal). I've always had an appetite though, I usually can't go a few hours without eating.

Not really, did a spot of weights here and there, but nothing that would break the bank, so to speak.
It's more to do with the eating that bugs me. For 20 years or so I've not had an appetite, so whats happened?

Late growth spurt perhaps? Never heading over 9 and half stone at your age, you were probably overdue.

I'm about 15 stone :P Which could be described as rugby build (With extra fat on top). I would like to be 13 stone, then i'd look trim.
I eat whenever something looks tasty, i hardly ever feel hungry.

It's just natural "filling out" as you grow older. My uncle was saying today that until he was 23 he was really thin but now he's not fat but well-built. My dad was the same and I probably will be too. I'm really skinny at the moment but I don't think I will be in 10 years time, not fat, just not skinny.

10st 7?
I'm 11st at the moment, I'm only 5ft11. It doesn't mean that you're fat, it probably just means that you've been working out, or you finally kicked the anorexia and ate a sandwich. Besides, if you weighed yourself right after you ate, it's not going to be a good indicator. Sometimes when I weigh myself after pigging out, I've magically put on 5 pounds. Don't worry about it, that's underweight for your size

That's what I'm thinking. It feels great! I've grown tired of being short and skinny. I want to, as Moria says, fill out.

I'm saying it's a good thing, not that I'm fat or owt. I'm just curious about why it's happening now. I weighed in the morning as well, never after a meal, cos...that's just daft. :D

It's the b33r belly. Embrace it. You burn it off as you plow the ladies/men/goat(delete as appropriate).
Muscles weigh more than fat.
At least that's what I keep telling myself.

I'd say the same for myself. Apart from having size 13 feet.
I'm always asked if I play rugby to which I reply no. Then always the counter is I should. I would if I liked the sport.
10 stone 7 consider yourself lucky. How I wish to be that weight again. I just remember a couple years ago, stepping onto the scales just before a shower I'd see if go up, then the next time it would be up more. I was sad.
Now whatever I do I can't seem to put anything on, if I ever lose anything it's a few pounds which are on again the next day.
Well I'm 6'2" and I'm only just 10st so I guess I'm just healthy though I'm bordering on the underweight. I guess I'm fairly happy with what I am, at least I don't look like some anorexic skellator.

Im 13 stone booyah! 1 stone of that is my giant penis though so I dont feel so bad. On a more serious note hmm everyone always say I look thin then I tell them my weight and they are like wow. Im healthy according to BMI maybe I have an alien inside me thats slowly growing into it launches into the atmosphere out of my chest. Or maybe I should cut down on the subways its one of the two.

I did that. I was a really fat bastard at the start of last summer, but I lost 3 and a half stone in 5 months. It's pretty hard dude, the only reason I managed it was cause I used to be in Florida walking for 10/11 hours a day in 30 degree heat without anything after breakfast. You gotta hit the gym.

It would be nice to be anywhere near 10 stone 7 XD

I'm 9 stone on the dot and cannot put on weight.
This is probably the most I will weigh in my entire life. Three years ago I was 7 stone.
I can lose around a stone in a month without doing any exercise and eating the same amount. In fact, if I eat more crap, I lose weight.
I wish I could put on more weight to turn to muscle. But instead I'm just thin and athletic. :(

That's how its always been with me, I could never get above 9 and a half stone.
Then suddenly, wtf!
There's always a way, my dear. I was getting a bit pissed off because I've always been told "you're too thin." FFS, if I can't gain weight, what can I do?

From that chart I recon I'm about 20/21 BMI - 6ft 2 and 11st 6, or thereabouts. I'm pleased with my weight, always felt I was quite healthy with it. Perhaps I could do with a bit more meat (muscles =P) but I'm content.

I have to see a dietitian because of my weight problems. I'm 5ft 10 and I used to weigh 8st 3lbs. A few months later I managed to get up to 10st 2lbs. Since then it's been nothing but downhill and I'm somewhere around 9st.
Thing is I don't actually like eating. I can eat a whole tub of ice cream or a big bar of chocolate from time to time, but there isn't a great lot of dinners I like and I could quite easily never eat breakfast.

I never eat breakfast, I haven't in years. I can't stomach food as soon as I wake up, I just usually binge when I get back from college after eating some sort of sandwich at lunch.

Have you tried toast, omelets, eggs, waffles... fruit... even a muffin in the morning, Haggis? "Breakfast is the most important meal of the day" isn't just an old wives' tale, it's key to starting your day off with the right nutrients. Gives you a chance to get back the glucose levels you lost during sleep and wakes you up. Breakfast skippers get tired and irritable easier and at the same time have worse sleeping habits.
Edit: Did a quick google and one site listed these for people who don't fancy breakfast foods:
Lean ham on a toasted English muffin and vegetable juice
Cheese pizza and orange juice
Grilled vegetables mixed with beans and cilantro topped with cheese
Heated leftover rice with chopped apples, nuts and cinnamon and fruit juice

Steps to making your penis bigger:
1) Buy a heavy metal ball with a hook on the end.
2) Buy a piece of string.
3) Tie around schlong.
4) Leave to hang for a few days.
You heard it first here, boys!

Exactly. Some people are genetically determined to be thin, or large and trying to become the opposite is a monumental task.
Then there are those people that are genetically determined to be the perfect height and weight no matter how they eat or exercise. I hate these people :heh:

Haha, you sound like me! I've not passed the 10st mark yet though, but growing up I was always thin, yet recently everytime I weigh myself, I seem to be creeping up in weight. However, my laziness(and still living in my parents' house) is keeping me in check, that whenever I'm hungry, I'm usually too lazy to make something to eat, so I kind of starve for a while, then have something basic. I think it's probably just age though, I know a few family and stuff who were thin, then hit their 20s and started putting it on, crazy stuff.
