The Sonic rush website has just launched http://sonic-rush.net/en/index.html
and it got 92% from NOM which is really good. Problem is it comes out the same day as Mario Kart and im not exactly made of money!

Despite the site being new, the video footage on it is really outdated. Since that video was released, like half a year ago, the music has been changed completely and all Ryan Drummond's voice clips have been replaced with the 4kids Sonic voice actor. It's fairly surprising they didn't use one of the newer official trailers instead.

Well the super emeralds don't really exist in the current continuity anyway, they've never been mentioned again since S&K as far as I'm aware. Also from what I recall the Sol Emeralds are from Blaze's dimension.

The site has been updated with a music player down the bottom, playing some fantastic music from the game (well, fantastic if you like the rather unique style, which thankfully I do). The game was actually composed by the same guy who did the music for Jet Set Radio.
The site is claiming a release on the 18th of november, a full week earlier than expected. Anyone know if this is true or a fuck up?

Annoying I had it preordered on Gameplay before the date was changed, I just hope they hurry up and adjust it to the new one, there's no way I'm waiting a week more for my most anticipated game of the year (now that Zelda's 2006 anyway).

Sega europe still states its on the 25th...maybe there's a few errors going round? Because that happend with the Nintendo release date list given out at german games show in august.

Yeah but there's no chance a Sonic fan will think of it as the best really, nothing now can seem as fresh as the originals were at the time, still I have a lot of hope it'll be more fun than the Advance games. I wish Gameplay would change their damn date to the 18th though, it's annoying me that they've still got the 25th.

This game got a 9.0 on IGN but they dubbed it 'maybe the best sonic game yet'?
I'm sorry but Sonic 2 and Sonic and Knuckles are worth 9.5 so this doesn't add up as far as I'm concerned :D

I guess we'll know for definate by tonight, if it is out on friday then it should be delivered to stores today, so I'll check when I'm at work later (and hopefully have a little playtest).

I don't think Gameplay have updated my account details to say it's shipped, because it still states preorder-dispatching 23/11/05.
The site says it's out this friday though and order before 5pm today to get it on day of release!

OK guys, I'm really confused, I just got in from work and we HAVE NOT received any copies of Sonic Rush and we have been told its next week now. ARGH. But if you guys are having it despatched it must be out. ARGH.... I wanna know too, I have it preordered at GAME (30% staff discount ;)) so if it is out then a copy should arrive by friday, but thursday deliveries are VERY rare. I'm confused!

It does all seem to be confusing I have to say...............but considering Sega-Europe have big banners at the top of their homepage shouting the date "18/11/05" along with Shadow The Hedgehog, then I would still go with that it's out this Friday.
Sega of all people would know when it's going to be in the shop I would have thought.
It probably just comes down to communication problems between the distributor, retail and what not.
Yeah but for GAME to fuck up? To fuck up and the result being me not getting the Game on release means I'm gonna be a very unhappy little bunny. Oh well, one of the company directors is visiting our store tomorrow, I may have to have a word in his ear.

How do I know? Well remember I said my boss said it was very rare we got a thursday delivery? WE GOT ONE! And my boss let me take my copy home today! So I've been playing it and let me say, it's amazing. I could type for hours about every detail but I would rather play it, sorry guys, but hey, thats a good sign right? It is fantastic though. The only negative aspect I have come across is that sometimes, just sometime (on zone 2, the water world zone) it can get confusing when you change from top screen to bottom screen.
I dont know if this is common knowledge or anything but there are very heavy hints in the manual that there are other characters to unlock and the character select screen is much the same as Sonic Adventure so thats a good sign too.
In short, it really is the best sonic game since the days of the Mega Drive. I'm definately not disappointed. I was looking forward to it and expecting it to be fun but it surpassed my expectations.
Single card download play works very well too and is much better and easier to use than some other download play games I have played, such as Ridge Racer.
Enjoy guys, I certainly am.

All I can say is drool!!!
Zone 3, Mirage world is so much fun! And when the action transfers to the foreground for a few seconds it so cool.
The boss fights are fun. So very very fun. I really cant recommend this game enough. Everyone should own a copy.

Although it took me about 5 attempts to beat the first boss. He kept knocking me off the edge! :hmm: All the other bosses have been a lot easier since and I'm up to zone 5.

They told me something different, so i cancelled my preorder and ordered of play.com who have it in stock now. I reckon by the time monday gets here, gameplay will say it's tuesday now etc.. etc.. it's not there fault but i've had it all before with businesses. :wink:
At least i know it will be dispatched shortly. Dearer though, but cheaper then a shop.

Ashley, trust me, you wont want to ten day it. This game is a great multiplayer game and the replay value I've found is absolutely excellent. I'm only on zone 4 not because I cant get further, more because I play a zone and I'm like "holy shit" and just replay that zone a few times.

Oh well, I have a tendancy of completing sonic games too quick that the fun only lasts a week so I have to leave it a while to play it again, oh well, Mario kart will keep me occupied til Xmas day, which I will definitly be playing Sonic rush on.
I guess this is another game I need to pick up. For god sake, my wallet hates Winter.

Cancelled off gameplay this morning in fury and bought it out of GAME. Best Sonic since S3&K in my opinion, utterly thrilling on my first playthrough.
This has impressed me a lot, think I'll pick it up this weekend.

Sonic Rush is great, got it this morning. On Zone 4 with Sonic, after seeing Cream's mum (aka the MILF of Sonic :P). It's really hard to get into special stages... or is it just me?
I wonder if Super Sonic will make another return. Oh yeah, and Shadow is apparently rather terrible XD
I forgot to say I LOVE the game. :D
The graphics, special stages and levels rock! It's like the mega-drive versions which i loved!
I don't need to copies though! :D

Got mine this morning too!
It was hard to get in to at first, but now I'm a bit more used to it. So far I'm up the 2nd boss stage but I still haven't encountered the special stage. :wtf:
I find the bit at the end of each level when Sonic is dancing to that cheesy music absolutely hilarious, in fact this games cheese factor is completely off the scale! It all adds to its charm though. One thing that doesn’t mind you is the infuriating voice that comes out of Tails, makes me want to punch my DS! :mad:

Break your DS open with a hammer

Turn off your DS
Option 4:
Go find Yuki Naka and rip his balls off.
Option 5:
Turn the sound off during the parts he's there.
I'd go for 4 personally, for letting Shadow go ahead.

I have a very similar problem, I cancelled off Gameplay, bought mine out game and then the Gameplay one arrived. I'll have to send it back.
Also for people complaining about special stages, it's actually REALLY easy to get into them. There are little generators with stars on them littered throughout levels, just grab onto one, hit the boost button and if you have enough on your meter, you'll be sucked into the special stage.
Doing the special stages is well worth it too, the extra zone for getting all the emeralds (and beating both character modes) is fantastic, great music and some really nice cutscenes.

I now have 5 of the 7 chaos emeralds with Sonic, on the 7th stage. I'm not looking foward to doing Altitude thingy with Blaze though.
EDIT: On the rather tough F Zone boss now >.>
EDIT2: Not just gotta 2 more emeralds and finsh the game with Blaze and i'm done :)

I really wanted this game intially and I have read countless reviews so I know it is and excellent game. However the only thing stopping me from buying it is the Length of the game. Im afraid that I will end up finishing the game too soon and because Im a bit short on dough currently I need a game that will satisfy the £30. I know Mario Kart will do that and that is why Im buying it this Friday. I really need some honest advise on this. (Particularly from someone whose finished the game.)

I've discovered another annoyance in this game now, again to do with sound and it comes in the form of that cockney singer on the special stage, man that song is annoying. Not as annoying as Tails but annoying none the less.
I like how you control those stages with the stylus though, it works really well.

I like Rush a lot. It's a bit unfair at times, with all those Advance-style leaps of faith, but it's the best Handheld Sonic after the original Sonic Advance, IMO. Perhaps a bit too fast, even for Sonic, though. The special stages are fantastic, especially the music :)

Personally I like the singer for the special stages. In fact, if I can get it on my mp3 player I definitely will do. Is there a sound test anywhere in the game?

This would be my advice too. Shame you cant keep it though, I reckon that Sonic and Mairio Kart will be the two best games for the DS.
I gave in and bought it today. I'm buying too many games these days, but this one was worth it. Only on the second zone, but I'm really impressed, the dual screen stuff is top notch.

Wow! there's been so many great games for DS lately... Ever since trauma released Its been exploding with good games...
Trauma, Phoenix Wright, Castlevania, Mario Kart, Sonic Rush, Tony Hawk and we all know the X630 and Animal Crossing are right around the corner... I guess I'll have to get Sonic Rush too. You guys are really good at convincing people into buying games! (some of you without even knowing it ;) )

Just beat it, the end boss was a bit crap. I got bored with all of the text at the end so just let it run and listened to the music. As for the game, too much running and not enough platforming for my liking, but it was a good few hours.

Don't let my opinions put you off, i'm a big old-school sonic fan (I prefer the old platforming style of gameplay of the 16-bit Sonics) and am hard to please. If you enjoyed the Sonic Advance games, you'll probably love Sonic Rush.

Mike is a rather hard one to please, although he's a nice guy.
I loved the ending boss, especially the little cut scene. Fantastic graphics. The ending battles are miles better than the advance ones were! :)

I'm having major trouble with this game at the moment on Zone 6, keep falling off the screen every 2 seconds! :heh: Got all of the emeralds so far though. (I love the special stages)
I've been playing SK8LaND a lot but I've finished that now so I can concentrate on Sonic a bit more.
Only thing that's pissing me off is that if you beat the first Act of a zone then turn it off, you have to go back and do it all over again.

I'm weak, so I'm renting this (10 day returns at Game) to tide me over until Mario Kart comes out, I may even keep it if it proves supreme enough to fill one of the gaps in my admittedly lacking DS collection.

Zone 6 is a pain in the ass, you'll be glad to know Zone 7 is easier (and a lot more fun).Beat the game last night after finally getting past zone 6, you were right about zone 7 being easier and more fun, (I reckon 6 and 7 should have been the other way around as far as the difficulty curve is concerned) I got through 7 on my first attempt.
Anyway, on to time attack now! :wink:

Ugh, the battle between Blaze and Sonic is annoying me like mad. Is there some trick to it, or is it just sheer button-bashing to knock off that last hit point? I don't think I've got the energy to keep mashing it for that long.

Switch between which fingers you mash with, personally I tend to use both hands at once.

Yeah, I ended up hitting them alternately with both hands on one side of the pad. Usually I don't do that - it feels like cheating, somehow - but it seemed the only way. I was so exasperated.
I'm excusing myself from it, though. The animation on the screenlooks like that's what it was designed for.

Sonic Rush is really fun! I had nearly forgot how insanely fun 2D Sonic games were. My fav DS game so far, without doubt.

From what Heard about Super Sonic, it happens at the end just like sonic adventure 1, 2 or Heroes.

Blaze can also Turn Super but is known as Sol Blaze

Not true, that's a made up fan name. They don't user a name for the form in the game, but chances are it's just supposed to be Super, that's the way Sonic Team seem to work these days.

Sol, not sol, it doesnt matter considering it happened with Hyper Shadow (and yeah the word Hyper wasnt right) but Sol sounds better IMO.
