I have been out as had been mentioned in la previous thread, for drinks in the pub.
My drinks of choice are Strongbow, Magners, and other Ciders. I also like Vodkas and Coke by the double...but
Strongbow is my drink of choice.
My question. ENN-EE, what are your drinks of choice!
SPEAK QUICKLY!
If I'm going to drink alcohol, it's usually Strongbow.
Pubs should start serving Dr. Pepper. Vodka & Dr. Pepper = Awesomeness.
Dr. Pepper on it's own is the best drink ever.

Though I like Ribena, Water, Milk and Milkshakes. And i'm not a health freak :heh:
Well the local sells Kronenbourg, so that's what I usually have.
However the nicest drink ever is undisputedly cough medicine.

Truth. I found out the other month that cheap vodka mixed with Dr. Pepper bears a high resemblence in taste to Amaretto, but without being as sickly LDO.
My drinks of choice lager wise are as follows; Carlsberg Export, Kronenbourg, San Miguel. Favourite ciders are Blackthorn and Old Rosie.
My favourite spirits are; Vodka & Orange Juice, Rum (Captain Morgan's) & Coke, Southern Comfort (straight). I also like a good Cointreau or Pernod.

Magners, Strongbow, Jacques, Cirrus, Kopperburg and so on.
Just love the stuff!

Whisky, with ice. For some reason people always ask if I want coke in it as well... I think whisky and coke is horrible.
As for non-alcoholic drinks... apple juice and diet coke. As I've probably mentioned before, I prefer the taste of diet coke.

No beer but Guinness. Sometimes I order a pitcher and sit there drinking it out of a straw.
I'm not a beer drinker though. It's Jagermeister all the way. If not, I usually go for a few doubles of whatever dry gin/ Whiskey they got, or if I'm feeling like a ****, I'll go for the green aftershocks. Straight and no Ice. You can't down it if theres ice involved.

Normally Carling/Carlsberg/Fosters, the cheap shit.
However I have a bottle of Smirnoff and a bottle of Martini with an optic sticking out for correct measurements under my feet.
Bourbon, or a nice Irish whisky.
Brandy for when I'm feeling low.
But from now until further notice, I am not allowed alcohol.

alcohol I tend to go for largers and vodka mixes on a night out. they go down smooth and result in more drunkenness than wallet pain. s'all good in the hood.
for food, red wine is king, and for a movie in it's all about premium beers in giant man sized bottles.

Alcohol = Kronenbourg, and I wouldn't even know about it, if it wasnt for you fine NE-ers. Cant beat a pint of that with crabber loads of ice.
Of course I cant drink alcohol atm as you know/dont care.
Non Alcohol = Mostly non carbonated stuff. Juice wins, Apple and Melon J20 is the greatest thing ever though. From an ice cold bottle. Win.

04-12-2007, 10:15 AM
Coca Cola, I drink the stuff by the bucket load.
Snakebite & Black is always a good choice. Half a cider, half a lager and blackcurrant cordial. Add a shot of vodka if you're daring. My g/f and I sort of have an "our drink" think (like "this is our song!" but with drink) and that's Southern Comfort. A ridiculously smooth high alcohol content wannabe whisky.

Really depends where I am and on which night.
Monday - Don't think I've ever been out
Tuesday - All drinks 99p at the Union so Southern Comfort/Lemonade
Wednesday - All drinks £1 at Bamboo - Southern Comfort/Lemonade
Thursday - Pints of Budweiser or Heineken at the Arc before moving onto the garage where vodka/lemonade is £1.50
Friday - Pints of Fosters at the Union
Saturday - 80p Vodka/lemonade at the Union
Sunday - £1 vodka mix at Bamboo

Listen very carefully for I shall say this only once.
I have red wine when watching telly with my girlfriend. When at home my drink of choice is Brothers festival strength pear cider. When out at a pub I usually get myself a Guinness, an Old Rosie, an ale (whatever is on offer) or if I'm feeling cheap something crappy like a Fosters or Strongbow.

Carlsberg Export is my favoured beer, though I'll drink most crap beers like Carling/Stella/Foster's. Then if the nights getting good or I want a really nice drink I'll bust out some double vodka, red bull and double apple sourz.

Its all about the Koppaburg! That stuff is the bee's knees! Pear cider is awesome!
Usually start off with that if I can, but I'm flexible. Magners, strongbow, fosters, carlsberg any of those in my hand and it will be drunk. Vodka, or malibu will have to do for shots if I ever have them, rarity these days.
Vodka and coke is ok, except I get accused of being a woman >_>
Snakebite and black is also aa very nice mix! Good choice shorty!

Snakebite and black is called a Nasty :) its the main drink at Loughborough uni. They have special nasty stations where they have cider and larger taps next to each other and a blackcurrent pump thing in the middle so dont even need to move the glass :)
For me though i drink John Smiths :) Can't beat it

And I think Smirnoff ice tastes nice.
The Bard

The point is, Smirnoff Ice is the same price as a pint give or take, and in fact, it's usually more, and you get half the alcohol, for effectively a half pint of lemonade but with a slightly foul taste. It's for people that get fucked off of 6 units, nothing to do with how it tastes; nobody drinks alcohol for the taste.

When out boozing though it's anything goes. I'll drink anything that isn't wine or an alcopop (unless it involves strawpedo-ing it)
I sometimes drink alcohol for the taste. I can't always afford to get pissed.
I do too, a good Scotch Whisky or fine Vodka drunk neat. Highland Park, Monkey's Shoulder (both Whiskey) and Grey Goose (Vodka) are particular favourites of mine. Very nice :D Not to be rushed though...
All 3 are expensive (£30-ish a litre), so i tend to go with J&B (£15/litre) most of the time. Mixed with Coke to mask the (relative) crappyness (still better than Jack Daniels though, and cheaper)

I drink Smirnoff Ice, and I take a lot more than 6 units, I like it's taste, and the main reason I drink it is that I prefer it to, say beer, which makes me feel sick.
Yes, I know I like girly drinks, but I prefer WKD, Smirnoff Ice, and cider over beer or wine. Champagne is nice, in moderation, and I must give a special mention to Magners. I love the stuff! :D

It depends on the occasion.
With a nice meal, it has to be a good red wine (such as a Rioja). If I'm just out at the pub, then a pint of bitter (preferably a local ale, but otherwise Worthingtons ain't bad). At a jazz club I'll usually go for a gin martini, stirred, with an olive. On my lonesome? A little vermouth straight up (at the moment it's Martini Torino, which has a nice smoky flavour). If I'm just chilling out playing a decent game of poker with my friends I'll go for the vermouth.
For non-alcoholic drinks it's all about fruit juices. Or for true refreshment - water.
People just don't know how to drink anymore. Alcopops? Obviously drink just ain't your thing if you have to sweeten it up so much to tolerate it. May as well just enjoy a soft drink. There's no soul in drinking merely for the sensation rather than the taste.

Yeah, the only use it seems to get is with tonic. I think it's 'cos we've never really adopted the traditional cocktails over here (of which gin is a common base). You can hardly go ask for a gin martini down at your pub. But in the States, most bars would oblige you.

The only alcohol that I actually kind of like the taste of is Sambuca or Jagermeister. And of course, Guinness, but that isn't really beer, it's a meal in liquid form. Problem is, no good bars do drinks like that, they stick with the big brands, so I'm probably gonna have to scout the local pubs for the good shit.
