Hi im new to the forums, used to post now n again at Nintendo of Europe site but thats now gone, ne way hello everyone.
The reason for this post is that I recently purchased FIFA 08 for the DS, Its one hell of a game and the on line play just makes it even better, however ive found that about 30 to 50% of my games cut out and I get a message saying theres a wifi error - but no error code-, when this kept happening I tried Mario Kart DS to see if that had simular problems (as thats another game that would send and recieve a lot of data for on-line play, unlike say tetris for example) and it was fine.
Anyone else had this problem with FIFA?
Is it maybe as you get this error if the other person your playing disconnects and game has not been programmed smartly enough to reconise this? - so it gives you a connection error message?
BTW from time to time I cant play most my DS games on line and I get that 502... error message (cant remember rest) but the problem seems to fix its self after a few hours so ive always assumed it was a problem with my ISP or
with the Nintendo WIFI server, NE Ideas? ::shrug:
Ive now updated my Wireless router firmware and checked that my DHCP settings are set to enable (this is on the router and is appently important that you set it this way) and have the firewall on my router as inactive as possible though the settings (always have done this with the firewall for the router, the pc has it own fire wall, the router comes 'before' the PC and i mostly play ds on-line when the PC is turned off, so the PC firewall is not the problem) however there is no button to click to turn firewall as such.
The game is cutting of on a fair share of matches, generally ones im winning, grr. Some matches play more than others the slow down seems totally random from one game to the next - know football games on DS can suffer from slow down on line, ok but sometimes it really bad, and for the game to cut out pro evo on the DS never did that-(had that and traided it in).
At a guess ide say it it is a problem with the fifa game its self (IE the program
for playing it on line or EA server, (if EA act as the server) .
Is ANYONE else with this game having these problems? any ideas????
To be clear on a point I made before the router firewall does not have a button to turn it off - my router is a Linksys.
