So I decided to buy a blue DS to replace my badly scratched up Silver VIP Edition DS I bought from Ebay, but the first Blue DS I bought had 2 dead pixels. The second has no dead pixels but the top backlight is really dark compared to my old DS. Did these blue DS's have production problems or something?

Mine's brilliant, thanks. I have one blue pixel, which I presume is a stuck one as opposed to a dead one.

I guess your feeling a bit gutted. I know I would be. I'm still hoping the black/white ones come to the UK

I'm on my 3rd blue ds, the first one had a blue stuck pixel top screen, 2nd had a blue stuck pixel bottom screen and now ive got a red stuck pixel bottom screen. At least game let me swapped it but i think i send it to Nintendo sooner than later

This is realy weird, because my mum wanted me to test my little brothers DS just before he's birthday and he has a blue dead pixel on the top screen, and it sounds like many have encountered this problem.

It's a stuck pixel. If there's a cluster, send it to Nintendo and get yourself a replacement. If it's just one, then ignore it. They're unfortunate, but forgettable.

How long does it take to return it and get a replacement though? It might be easier to take it back to the shop if it's not passed 28 days or something well Gamestation gives 28 day returns for faulty items anyway.

If there's only one dead pixel then you guys shouldn't make such a big deal out of it. It just seems a little immatue. I know it's a lot of money to spend and you want it perfect, but one dead pixel out of thousands isn't going to ruin your gaming experience.

I see no problem with just one dead pixel its just that it doesn't really help with the small screens so you can see it so easily :P I had two on my top screen on the first Blue DS you could only see it on dark screens but still I thought it was better to replace it.

If you ignore it, it really stops being such a glaring issue.

If you have a pixel stuck on a colour, like blue or red, it can sometimes be fixed. If you have a flash cartridge, then download the stuck pixel fixer from http://www.pineight.com. It has been proven to work on some stuck pixels. Depending upon where you have your stuck pixel, you will want to change the GBA screen settings to either the top or bottom scren.

My Blue has 1 stuck pixel. My Silver has none.

I could of ignored it if it wasn't so centralised. With the 2nd Blue DS I got with the bad top screen backlight it is quite obvious something isn't right about it. I'll be taking in my old DS as an example when I take it back to exchange if this one turns out bad I'll have to send it back to nintendo myself. Hopefully they won't take to long like when Mario Kart gets released :p

Exactly, it just seems like nitpicking to me. I think I may have one or two dead pixels on my Blue DS, however, I can't say they've ever detracted from a gameplay experience. I mean, when I'm having a quick session of Meteos, I'm too absorbed in the action to even notice or care about such a thing.

About the blue ds screens being darker , this is the case with all of them I know 4 people wih the blue ds and there screens are darker compered to mine. They are ot to dark but they are darker. I think nintendo must have dont it for a reason , or they may be using a different type of screen. :s .

Phew. I feel so lucky with my first DS, blue, having no dead pixels on it at all.
