The latest edition of Famitsu magazine has now hit the streets and, as usual, the guys over at NeoGAF.com have lifted the best bits.
Wii Love Golf (Wii, Capcom)
First up is the news we have all been waiting for - Camelot is back on the Nintendo scene, albeit under Capcom's wing this time, following the original 'bad news' that it was working solely on an online PC golf game for a South Korean publisher. "Wii Love Golf" is set for a Winter 2007 release in Japan and lets the player use the Wii controller for the swinging motion and has courses such as one located at a beach resort and another at a desert ruins.

Definately has Camelots Mario Golf look to it!
This has the potential to be class! Here's hoping they don't try to overcomplicate the controls and just go with something like Wii Sports Golf!

Although I am happy with Camelot working on the Wii im a little disappointed with the choice of title that they have decided to create. I demand another RPG from them as we already have enough golfing games :)

Hope so! Tournies would work well I reckon. Let's say 100 people enter, and each day they play a round of golf and their scores are saved; the following day a cut off score is announced and everyone who doesn't make the cut is eliminated. Do this over a period of several days and it'll be awesome!

How many golf games are we going to get on the wii? Seriously?
Tiger Woods, Pangya, Wii sport - and now this?
I truly beleave there is only need for that many golf titles..

I think a similar tourney system to Albatross18 would be good. Can't remember the exact player limit but usually about 30 players all playing at the same time through a round of 9 or 18 holes. You don't get to see them taking there shots, but you see a silhouette of there ball as you play through. There's usually quite a tight time limit to play though all the holes, about 30 mins which can make for a pretty challenging game.
I know there's a lot of golf games for the Wii but none of them have been flawless and have hit the nail completely on the head. I'm hoping this will be as good as Mario Golf, as I must of spent hours on that game.

Nintendo Wii News | Camelot Doing Tennis, Baseball AND Golf?
Quick News - Yesterday it was revealed that Camelot is, under Capcom's publishing arm, bringing the sequel to its PC golf title 'I Love Golf' to Wii in the form of 'We Love Golf'. However, some new trademarks have also revealed 'We Love Tennis' and 'We Love Baseball'.
Seems like Camelot is back on Wii in a big way. Shame there is no RPG just yet...Seems very likely as Camelot's already done alot of the work for such games with Mario Tennis/Baseball!

Nintendo News | Hot Model Promotes We Love Golf in Japan
Capcom has revealed that it has enlisted the help of a voluptuous Japanese model to promote Camelot's first Wii sports game 'We Love Golf' later this year. Popular bikini model 'Waka Inoue' is set to be the 'spokesperson' for the game, appearing in various TV spots to help get word of the title around Japan. Below is an image of her at the recent event:

Announced for North America:
CAPCOM® JOINS FORCES WITH CAMELOT TO DEVELOP WE LOVE GOLF!TM FOR THE WIITM
Immersive Golfing Experience and Flexible Tee Times Thanks to the Wii RemoteTM
SAN MATEO, Calif — Sept. 14, 2007 — Capcom®, a leading worldwide developer and publisher of video games, today announced a partnership with Camelot Software Planning to develop We Love Golf!™ for the Wii™ home video game system. Best known for developing Hot Shots Golf and the Mario Golf series, Camelot has a proven track record of creating entertaining, successful sports video games. This latest title transforms the Wii Remote™ into a virtual set of golf clubs, creating the most immersive golfing experience available off the greens. Capcom plans to release We Love Golf! in North America in 2008.
“Camelot’s pedigree in this genre, coupled with Capcom’s creative expertise, is a virtual hole in one,” said Nique Fajors, vice president, marketing, Capcom Entertainment. “Combining an already great game concept with the exciting innovations possible on the Wii is a winning formula for an amazing experience for gaming and golfing fans.”
We Love Golf! presents a realistic golfing experience with a fresh new spin, incorporating the Wii Remote’s unique motion-sensing functionality. Players will use the controller to choose clubs, line up shots, swing and even add a touch fade or draw with a flick of the wrist. Just as on a real course, gauging wind conditions, correct club selection and careful reading of the greens are all essential for victory. A variety of game modes, multiple characters, and unlockable content will provide endless hours of putting heaven.Source: http://press.capcom.com/release.asp?i=43

We Love Golf Interview
Producer Hironobu Takeshita swings in for a chat with IGN about Capcom's first sports game.
Article here (http://uk.wii.ign.com/articles/828/828314p1.html)
Now heres the interesting part:
IGN: Is there going to be an online mode in the game?
Takeshita: We get asked this a lot! All I can say is that it's under consideration. Although you can play with up to four players offline.
That sounds like no online to me - under consideration my arse!
Hmmm yet another golf game with no online! so thats Tiger Woods 07 and 08, Pangya! Golf with Style plus its upcoming sequel, and We love Golf all having no online thats ridiculous!
How hard is it to make an online golf Wii game??? :wtf:

Wii Sports Golf, 18 holes, loads of courses, weather condition, light conditions etc...
But all kept fun and accessible with the simple controls!
I get the feeling this game will have more depth to the controls, like including spin etc... but I hope it's still alot of fun and not at all complicated, because then it'll be a must buy for me!
I think the release dates are still 2008 TBA.

This game exudes Mario Golf in everything shown in that, right down to the wee captions appearing on screen to try and put off the other players! No bad thing by the way, I thought it would have that Mario Golf feel, but maybe more subtly. And lets not forget that you can use your Mii's in this, so ontop of Ryu, Chun Li etc, you can use anyone at all. Micheal Jackson, Shigsy, Mario, infinite character list!

In a nice turn of events for North American and European gamers, Camelot's We Love Golf is getting an online multiplayer mode!
More good news has emerged from the latest issue of Nintendo Power. In an interview with Camelot (best known for RPG classic Golden Sun aswell as several Mario sports titles), it has been revealed that the North American and European versions of the Wii golfing sim We Love Golf will receive several major improvements over the Japanese edition.
The biggest surprise is online multiplayer, which was sadly absent from the Japanese release. Take on anyone from around the world head-to-head at a heated game of golf, and if you manage to beat them, you will collect their player avatar (which will likely be a Mii) and add it to your play sheet. Hopefully this trophy-style reward system will be enough to deter disconnectors.
The localised version of We Love Golf will also contain new characters, tweaked graphics which will appeal to international players, and Camelot are also rethinking the swing speed.
We Love Golf is set for a release at some point this year in North America and Europe.

I was wondering about this just 10 mins ago as I was reading the ONM review. The review seems very positive but I want to know how good the controls are. They do mention them but ONM tend to sugar coat things and I would much rather hear a hands on from someone on the boards. I had it but traded it in. I thought the controls were goofy and just couldn't get into the game :blank: Why they didn't use the swinging mechanics that Wii Sports and Tiger Woods uses and instead went with the stupid meter thing is beyond me.
