I'm sure quite a few of us will be starting Uni/College for the first time after the Summer. So we can talk about everything Uni in here. Got any worries? Not too sure what it's going to be like? Scared at having to make new friends and meet loads of people?

I'm going to Strathclyde to study Marketing and Business Law (+ 2 other subjects which I choose when I go there). Freshers week is 22nd September I think. I'm definitely going to be staying in town, no chance I'm travelling in and out every day. Going to private Halls because I live too close to Glasgow to get into the Uni halls.

Glasgow / Blackfriars.

Good internet connection which supports Xbox live, which the uni halls don't.

You lucky chap. I hardly got any gaming in last year.

By the way, if anyone is renting a house from Bannits and you need repairs, phone them every day. And talk to Sharon.

I'm looking forward to this year. Although apparently the work is a right bastard. Oh well. You only live once. Sharking freshers FTW! (lolz, not really)

If I get the grades to get in for a start. I think I might have fucked up Maths.

But if I do get in, I'm doing Civil Engineering at Liverpool Uni. Freshers week starts on the 22nd I think. Staying in halls, and catering as well. The whole shi-bang.

I'm at the university of Paisley studying Law and Politics, got my first year results through and I did pretty well considering I didn't do much at all and with those results I have just after gone through clearence for both Strathclyde & Glasgow university.

I really want to do Politics and drop law so I have applied for politics, sociology and social work at Strathclyde uni and will accept anyone of those courses.

Sadly politics at Glasgow doesn't go into clearing so I applied for Religious & Philosophical studies woth secondary teaching.

woo. Hope for the best.

If that falls through then I suppose I'll just proceed to 2nd year at paisley boo :P

Are you going to be living in Stirling?

I was in Stirling on Saturday night, a fair few noombers out and about. Number 2 Baker Street (a pub) is awesome, I've had some (2) very funny nights in there. It's a bit of an old man's pub which makes it even better. One time we met a drug dealer called Paddy and some guy had a push-up competition with him on the floor of the pub.

On the 24th of September my life as a student of the Leuven University starts. I'll be studying what is called Japanology here. Yup, that's what it's called, and it's pretty obvious what it's about. I'll be living in Leuven on my own during weekdays as well. Pretty exciting stuff. Holy shit I'm nervous.

Possibly :p to be honest though I dislike the college across the road faaaaar more than Cambridge. They egged our college shouting "Eggs-eter!" I mean come on, it's not an original method of attack nor is it an original line. Well. 5 of them got arrested so all was good. And then I proceeded to throw 50 old pizza bases over the wall into their principle's garden. Revenge is sweet.

My college recently merged with some other stuff to become the University of Cumbria. Doesn't make a blind bit of difference to me and my fellow art students, but reading in the local press about the almost constant, childish bickering about where to build the new main campus has already provided literally dozens of hours of entertainment.

As far as I'm aware, they've just about settled on an abandoned car park, but aren't decided on which bit should be built first.

So I got through my first week at uni. As some of you know I have some health problems, so I took a break last year, since 2 years ago I couldn't cope with school and health. Which makes this the 3rd time in the 1st year.
Luckily I already did some stuff on the first year, so now I have a nice timetable. I managed to make monday free of classes, which means 3-day weekend. Waking up at 7 everyday and then commuting to school is tiring though.
I've managed to study a little instead of letting things pile up, but a friend I have entered my school this year so he's always with me. He's a great guy and a great friend, he always wants to help me overcome my problems and encourage me not to skip class, but he's kind of boring. And being with a boring guy 24/7 that always thinks he knows what's better for you and also spends every single second after school at my place is already annoying me. I can't get a minute for myself, whether it's for resting, playing or studying and I'm getting quite annoyed.

But this year I gotta make it, my uni is very very hard, but I'll do my best.

I have problems with my timetable. My lab sessions with Maths and Psychology clash with each other on Monday and due to my timetables being all over the place, if I move praticals then I will miss lectures. I might have to fail one (maths) to do Psychology.

I'm sure all the maths ones are full for Monday and Friday, have lab sessions on Tuesday and Thursday, Computing Tutorials on a Friday which leaves Wednesday buti'm sure none run on that day.

Psychology lab is every 2 weeks so I can go to that and go to Maths every 2 weeks aswell but these a risk i'll just get an 'X' and fail it. Which I really don't mind :heh:

Hate maths and because of it screwed my timetable.

Is your psychology lecturer called Mrs. Gordon by any chance?

I had my first 'lecture' this morning. The first thing the guy said was "I know what you're all thinking: 'I can't believe there are so many people in the same room that you want to shag'".

What a ledge he is. I'd said virtually the same thing to my friend seconds before.

It's a male that gives our lectures. They change with every topic we do so i'll keep my eye open and see if I hear her name.

And that lecturer of your sounds pretty good so far, better than the jokes my Computing Science teacher tries :heh:

He's awesome. He was just making jokes all the way through. Swears just a little bit to much though.

Well mine has a mustache and makes little jokes about mixing things up like achrinims or however you spell it and how people barely know what happens 'behind' a PC.

And his name is Leslie.

Sooj: Get your ass into the Barony Bar. Seriously, there are hundreds of hot girls just waiting. Been there 3 nights in a row and been with a different girl each time. :heh:

Today was 12 hour Tuesday too which meant that all drinks were 99p!
Ahh thats shit, can't believe I missed out on that, honestly, I was really looking forward to it but because of work (its basically freelance but they needed me lol),lack of cash (garage to blame) and Strathclyde screwing up my application I wasn't able to go but no worries its been sorted out now, no idea what happened, so I'm going in to meet with Tony Anderson (know of him?) tomorrow at 1 to pick my other modules so its cool. Can't wait to start strath, should be good.

Had my first two lectures today.

"This chemical is extracted from human semen, so it's relatively easy to er... get hold of. Sorry about that, I was about to say 'come by' and realised it wouldn't be such a good idea."

That is fucking awesome! I'd love to go to NZ! Why did you apply there, of all places?

Well it's sort of an exchange agreement between my current University (UCD - www.ucd.ie) and the University of Otago (http://www.otago.ac.nz/) in Dunedin in NZ!

But the agreement isnt just with that uni, it's with about 5 or 6 in Canada, Norway, Copenhagen, London, Hong Kong, 5 or 6 in Australia and of course New Zealand!

I'm only going for a semester though, but I just can't wait!

Thats like a thing we have at my Uni. We've got a guy from Germany doing a semester on my course.

Sounds awesome though, New Zealand looks like an amazing place. Hope you have fun.

All unis do it.

Im supposed to be in America right now.

*le sigh*

And in less self loathing news. In our lecture on Tuesday the lecturer summarised that men wish to be domestic (getting this from The Killer) and asked one guy who said he just wants a girl with big boobs. And then turned to "the other side of the room" because there was more men and me and the guy next to me both went "not really, no." Win.
