View Full Version : Non-Japanese systems in VC?

I was thinking about the fact that Activision Anthology is great on GBA and that Intellivision Lives would be cool on GC (if only you could run imported games on the Wii), but what about bypassing a disc release and putting these things directly on the VC? In fact why not expand further and put Sinclair games or Atari VCS (heck why not Atari 800/ST or even Jaguar? -- Ubisoft owns all these properties now, correct?) titles for an absurdly cheap price or bundled together? I have to imagine many returning gamers who are into the nostalgia thing (myself included, natch) would enjoy classic games from other systems as well as the Megadrive, et al which I never owned.

There's obviously a wealth of titles out there; the VC can keep growing and growing since it's not just limited to the expensive of trying to get shelf space in a shop. I'm also excited about the prospect of direct publishing to a Wii channel. I've already written the Little Wing software company about it (they make some killer video pinballs for Mac and PC) and can only hope they view it as a viable option in addition to conventional computer platforms.

Anyway, just wanted to see what others thought. I'm all for new games that use the Wii potential, but I'm also hoping the VC isn't just about vintage Japanese consoles. I understand that C-64 stuff might be appearing, much of which also appeared on the old Atari 800 (I had an 800XL myself), so that's pretty cool, but I hope the net gets widened a bit.
