Hiya, ive got a GBA MEdia Player and it already had the nes and gameboy emulator on there. I want to play spectrum games (that I already own!!!!!) but can't get it to work. Ive downlpaded ZX Advance and some games, then created but they dont work.

ANyone done this and can help!!? Ive been on lots of emu boards but they don't have a how-to, just that you can use ZX Advance to play speccy games on your GBA!!

I can't really help, just wanted to say that even if you own the original games, ROM's are not legal.

I thought they were? On the wonderful world of spectrum they have every game and some they have permission and some (you cant download) they don't. So surely they are legal!?

The only legal ROM is one you make yourself from an original source that you own; technically, even then, you're only meant to retain it as a backup. As you mention, though, some copyright holders have released the rights to their games into the public domain for personal use.

I remember reading somewhere that you can get the media player flashed to allow roms to play on it. Can't remember where though sorry.

I read this a few weeks in a Dutch magazine:

"Ook is het downloaden van zogenaamde 'game-roms' niet legaal, zelfs niet als je de oorspronkelijke games zelf bezit (een hardnekkig misverstand)."

in English that is:

Also, downloading the so called game-roms isn't legal, not even if you own original copies of the games (a stubborn mistake).
