This may seem like a strange thread choice, but I make no excuse for peanut soup.

Anyway, so I was thinking about this earlier.....Obviously nothing beats nice steak burger from X restaurent etc...but commercial wise (Ie, Shop bought, fast food etc) what is the best Burger?

I actually think Rustlers Big One is frigging delicious. Burger King XL Bacon Double Cheeseburger works very well for filling folk up. So whats your thoughts?

or
Big Mac

I've never tried the XL at burger king, I went off burger king when they changed their fries.

A krustyburger with cheese...

But seriously, a McChicken Premiere is pretty good. Either that or a zinger tower meal from KFC.

I love the lettuce, pickles, tomatoes, cheese, sauces etc they put in the burgers!! therefore have always liked the Whopper and Big Mac. And love the Rodeo when it's out.

I had a really nice burger from TGI Friday a while ago, although I expect the many cocktails before hand made it taste nicer. There's a pub/club/foody place near me that does Build Your Own Burgers during the day and they're tasty, plus you can cram in as much other stuff such as pineapple (yum) or whatever you like in them as well.

As for chicken burgers, fish and chip shops ones tend to be the nicest in my experience.

I sound like an expert :)

It wasn't until I went in Burger King in Berlin that I was reminded of how awesome their burgers were (for a fast food outlet). Even a humble whopper was awesome. I like McDonalds burgers too, but Burger King's clearly have more taste.

I went to TGI today...they have a new burger sounded amazing, but I wasnt hankering a burger, but it was ;

Cheesy Bacon Cheeseburger

- Animal, Bacon, Cheese etc, and a deep fried bread crumbed mozzerella slice thing. Yum. They do one of the extras as Montery Jack cheese and Jack Daniels sweet n smokey glaze.

Not a fan of fast foody stuff at all, and the only one really around here is McDonalds (though we used to have something called Quick (same kinda thing), but they closed down the nearest one). We rarely get food from McDonalds, but when we do I only ever eat the Big Mac.

Great burgers at this restaurant called Deno's in Murphy, Texas. Freshly made and delicious.

My chart toppers are:

1. Big Mac (McDonald's)
2. Whopper burger (Burger King)
3. Chicken Fillet burger (KFC)
4. Bacon Double Cheeseburger (Burger King)

3 vs 4 is close. Maybe they flip over sometimes. But I just can't escape the grip of Big Mac sauce...

Don't really do takeaway burgers, but I do a mean homemade bacon double cheeseburger. Take 2 Iceland barbeque quarter pounders, grill, top with cathedral city cheese and grill again, top with four rashers of smoked bacon and whack it all in these nice cheese rolls you get at Morrisons. Much better than a takeaway burger and you can buy the ingredients for two for around three quid, not that you'll be be to eat two at once.

Also, I kinda agree with the above from Harribo re grease...it admitadly does give more flavour/salty/delcious marinade.

Burger King do real burgers, not the crap "Quarter Pounder" Mc Donalds do, I mean their "Quarter Pounders" are the same as the ones they give out in their kiddies meals!!!

In my current diet, I LOVE Veggie burgers, but am impartial to the odd Quorn Beef Style Quarter Pounder...

Oh yeah, I also greatly prefer the BK fries :) although not always.... 95% of the time I love the extra crispiness of them which leaves me thinking that mcdonalds are actually serving soggy yellow cardboard. But sometimes it all seems to go wrong, like the machine was broken that day or something.

My favourite thing at either big fastfood restaurant though is probably the thick chocolate Milkshakes. Though I don't get them very often because of a mix of:

1. more expensive than other drinks, boosts meal cost
2. machines often broken
3. don't quench thirst very well so you feel you need a drink too
4. not all restaurants seem to provide them.

I concur, Gherkins, shitty. Any form of Relish I find bullshit. The only good thing I find about them is that when I ask for a plain Hamburger at McDonalds it's pr0 freshly made. So nice and warm.

Add in some large fries. Banging meal. Wankers stopped super-size. Damn those obesity law suits or whatever.

As for the King Fries. When they first came out [new recipe or something I assume] they were alright, but after some they lost the taste. McDonald's still holds the pr0 for me.

Name me a better pizza you can get from the supermarket??

Actually, Goodfellas are good, but Chicago Town TakeAway style are really really flavoursome and delicious....But thats a whoollleeee 'nother thread. ;)

Also pics of dog shit GET FTW.

Also....I truly contest that pizzas are NOT better homemade. *Waits for slew of "Ah but you havnt tried my home made pizzas" responses. ;)

Sainsbury's own brand frozen pizza's are 2 for £3, and very nice.

Best around when you can't be arsed to make your own, in my opinion.

I feel that The Fish, sometimes I grate a bit of Cathedral City over it for the extra cheesey nob flavour.

Minus the nob of course.

Wasn't this thread about burgers?

In which case I did used to love the McRib which they used to bring in now and again. None too sure if that classifies as a burger and none too sure if I would like them now that I'm older.

Cheese Double Quarter Pounder (mcdonalds)

Big Mac

I've never tried the XL at burger king, I went off burger king when they changed their fries.

Aren't they made out of cardboard?

I made my own burgers once, just by compacting mince with my vice like hands.

Best Burger i've had as a takeout was a XL Double Bacon Cheeseburger from Burger King.

Best Burger i've had homemade was a chilli-burger with bacon, gurkins cheese and chilli sauce.

Ladies and Gentlemen, I have a winner for the best supermarket burger.

http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/2007/deliciousburgerfu4.jpg

It comes from Lidl, costs only 1.79€ for 2, and unlike most supermarket burgers (like Rustlers), they don't contain any artificial additives, or any crap. The burger is 70% pork (the other 30% is things like breadcrumbs, onion, and little or no fat), and is has a large slice of Edam cheese on it. And like Rustlers, it can be microwaved, and be ready in 1 minute. Of course, to avoid making the bread turn all crudy, I always toast them first :P

Unfortunatly, I'm not sure if you can get these in England or not, but you can definatly get 'em here in Spain.

......Wait....Pork?

Cow please.

In Southern Spain, it's kinda hard to get beef burgers, due to the fact that all the cows are located in the north :P

However, there is also a chicken variation of this burger.

That's a couple of Iceland Barbeque quarter pounders topped with garlic and herb cream cheese and english mustard in granary french french stick. A bit improvised but still better than any of that microwave shit.

Burgers in french bread? ewwww... and Iceland? At least go to somewhere with decent meat produce like Waitrose or M&S and not the cheapy Kerry Katona shop.

For the self proclaimed "Food Master" those images are dissapointing rokky lad.

What difference does the shape of the roll make to the taste?
Iceland do decent quality food cheap, I'm not paying five quid for an M&S burger when it's not much different to what you can get for 20% of the price.

End of the day it's what it tastes like, not what it looks like, and that tasted good.
