Probably the best Sonic game ever is now on the VC.

This is the game that takes a very large shit on sonic rush.

It IS the overall best sonic game(although I would except mentiones of sonic 3 or even knuckles)

I missed out on this one (Only had the original on the Mega Drive, then Sonic & Knuckles Collection on PC), so I can finally add it to my collection (I'll be getting the others on VC too)

I love it, a fantastic game.


I wonder if they'll do anything with the Knuckles lock-on? (Knuckles in Sonic 2, Sonic 3 & Knuckles and Blue Sphere)

Well they are on the excellent Sonic Mega Collection for the cube as individual games, so you have Sonic 2 and then Knuckles in Sonic 2 then you also have Sonic 3 and Sonic 3 and Knuckles as well as Sonic and Knuckles in its own. Maybe they will fleece us by selling them all seperatly.

Sonic 2 is still the best I reckon, even though back in the MD days The whole idea of Sonic and Knuckles with 3 was amazing, completing it then going back getting more emeralds before beating the final boss to find another extra leavel was incredible as a kid.

I have Sonic Jam for the Saturn, Sonic Mega Collection for PC and 1-3 and Knuckles on the Megadrive, so I'll try hold back on this one.

This is the Sonic game with Tails following you right? If it is, I remember playing this on my friends megadrive, definately gonna have to get it. Will probably wait until points-for-stars, though. Gotta get this and megaman at some point though!

I think this happens in sonic 2,3 and sonic advance 3... Could be more but ya I'm sure it's the game you are talking about.. Either way this is an essential vc purchase for those that haven't it any other way( i have mega collection for cube)

Tails following you used to cause framerate slowdown though, and you got that even more in multiplayer.... wonder if that's fixed on the Wii.

Sonic 2 is probably still in my top 5 games ever. 10 at least.

I could swear there was 7 to be honest but I could be wrong. It's difficult enough in sonic 2 to get them. Well it's not THAT hard but for a sonic game It's probablt the most difficult.

Also guys this is one of the greatest games for cheats. At least for sonic megacollection for gamecube every cheat worked.

Check out the level select and level editor. Great stuff i remember.

Well it's not as noticeable as the first game.

Sonic 1 had the music slowed down and everything for us.

It was ya . Time ran short on them. But It would have been better than sonic if it was the one game just called sonic 3.

Still better than a rushed effort though. You can tell they were originaly meant even if you didn't know all that was done is the addition of extra bonus stages,changed the first act boss music...and i can't think of much else really.

I'm just worried about how they'll do it with the VC. I hope they just give us Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Rather than Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles separately.

Probably do the same as what street fighter 2 Has been doing. Release the bad ones first. Like release sonic 1,2,3,knuckles and then release the expansion.
At least I have sonic mega collection so I'm happy:)

I always considered Sonic 3 to be far, far better than Sonic 2, even though it only had half (half? 2/3s?) of the levels Sonic 2 had.

Sonic 2 was brilliant though.

I have to add, don't purchase this on the VC! Get Sonic Mega Collection on the Gamecube second hand instead. Should be about £15 at the most. Or, if you have a PS2/PSP, Sega Mega Drive Collection is only £15 (new), and has quite a few of the best games Sega have released on the VC, including Sonic 1+2.
