Weird MSN messenger problem

Hey guys, I've had a problem with messenger for over an hour now and realy need help.

Everytime I try signing onto msn, it says Contact list unavailable. My bro signed on his account fine, so I tested.
I made a new account, signed on alright, added a few emails then tried adding my old email which I cant sign on with, but when I tried adding my old email, it said it couldnt update the adress book.

An hour later, nothings worked. Installed 7.5, tried shutting down, waiting a while. Nothing works.

Any of you guys have the problem or have any idea on how to help?

wow thats strange, perhaps the m$ server went down and lost the data.

im also having problems with it but i put it down to my old crap computer....

everytime i try to sign on it signs me in then straight away says signing out and stays like that unless i exit messenger.

the buddy lists are kept on the m$ server, so its very unlikely to be a problem with your pc, also due to the fact you can get on another screen name.

i'd say something like that happenin would be very rare, its never happened to me.

any one clever got any better ideas?offers/jord/roadkill/someone?

I just had this problem too, unfortunately no clue on how to fix it. I haven't upgraded to 7.5 BTW.
EDIT: Its stopped now.

Well mines working now...after 1 and a half days of it not working...
