This is a thread where you post song lyrics that have realistically changed your life. Don't post the whole song if some bits are irrelevant, just post the real bits.
Okay I'll start!
"You've used up all your coupons, and all you've got left is me.
And somehow I'm full of forgiveness- I guess it's meant to be."
Underneath It All - No Doubt
Like actually the song I have to play at my wedding/funeral.
My Buttons are Magic!

Hopelessly I'll love you endlessly
Hopelessly I'll give you everything
But I won't give you up
I won't let you down
And I won't leave you falling
If the moment ever comes

'Sometimes you gotta dig deep, when problems come near
Don't fear, things get severe for everybody everywhere,
Why do bad things happen, to good people,
It seems that life is just a constant war between good and evil'
Moment of Truth - Gang Starr.
What's the lesser of two evils:
If a suicide bomber
Made to look pregnant
Manages to kill her target
Or not?
What's the lesser of two evils?
What's the lesser of two evils:
If she kills them
Or dies in vain?
Nature has fixed no limits on our hope

He's just a young boy looking for a way to find love
It isn't easy, nothing you can say will help him, find love
He's got to do it for himself
And it can take so long
He's just a young boy looking for a way to find love
Find love, a time for meditation
Find love, a source of inspiration
Find love, instead of confrontation
Find love, and love will come looking for you
Young Boy - Paul McCartney

mmm...
"Been a fool, been a clown
Lost my way from up and down
And I know, yes, I know
And I see in your eyes that you really weren't surprised at me
At all
Not at all
And I know by your smile
It's you"
Adieu by The Seatbelts
"Don't wake me from the dream
It's really everything it seemed
I'm so free
No black and white in the blue"
Blue from The Seatbelts (yeah I love their lyrics)
"Happiness is just a word to me
And it might have meant a thing or two
If I'd had known the difference
Emptiness, a lonely parody
And my life, another smokin' gun
A sign of my indifference
Always keepin' safe inside
Where no one ever had a chance
To penetrate or break in"
Gotta Knock A Little Harder by... you guessed it, The Seatbelts. Actually the whole freaking music is amazing.
"Full moon waves
Slowly on the surface of the lake
You are there
Smiling in my arms for all those years "
Moon on the Water by Beat Crusaders (Dying Breed if you watched Beck)
"You are the Sun
You are the Star!
To me forever!"
Hit in the USA by Beat Crusaders
"Born upon a dark sky and shining on my dark side!"
Brightest by Husking Bee
"baby
I know your asking me to stay
say please please please don't go away
cause your giving me the blues"
Faith, originally by George Michael, but made awesome by Limp Bizkit
"You keep your distance, I can't deny you
I've got the feeling, can't satisfy you
I've got your picture on the wall
I've got the picture, long ago
You keep your wishes I'll keep my feelings
There goes another one that kept me breathing
I'm waiting for you I know your leaving
I still adore you, you never need me
Hold on
I found another way to let you go away
Hold on
You found another way to bleed my soul away"
Hold on by Limp Bizkit
"Mama, put my guns in the ground
I can't shoot them anymore.
That long black cloud is comin' down
I feel like I'm knockin' on heaven's door."
Knockin' On Heaven's Door by Bob Dylan
"Its more than a feeling, when I hear that old song they used to play (more than a feeling)
I begin dreaming (more than a feeling)
till I see marianne walk away
I see my marianne walkin away"
More than a feeling, by Boston

You promised me starry night skies
They just remind me of your shining bright eyes
I'm missing your voice at night time
This sepa-separation seem-seems a sad crime
B-b-b-but don't don't don't think think think I forgot you you you
Are are are oh so sweet I I I - I knew
If only you were here
Things would be more magical
If I was there
Right now would be more radical
You're so not near
I'm wishing I could place a call
And feel closer to you ooo-ooo
Call n Return - hellogoodbye
Bit long but..some awesome lyrics.

Wait dear, a white horse is walking down my street here,
Your words are creeping at my feet
I fear, sunrise will come too soon and you'll disappear
Into the haze of this city and go south...
Look out, they're coming after us with big guns,
They're only gonna tell you all the bad things I've done
Even if the words they say aren't true, they've won,
And I'm left here dyin' in the sun
Oh...seems like I'm always on my own,
Seems like I'm never coming home
Seems like I'm always on my...
All the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you...
Late nights, won't do me justice
Cause when I drink...I just get so damn depressed,
And it's...
It's not like, I ain't trying to get over you.
It's just hard to look at all the seasons, pass me over too...and i say
Oh...seems like I'm always on my own,
Seems like I'm never coming home
Seems like I'm always on my...
All the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you...
One last phone call from you, it wouldn't hurt much,
I'd just like to hear your voice and pretend to touch,
Any inch of you that hasn't said it all or read it all
Or sung my life away
And I say oh...seems like I'm always on my own,
Seems like I'm never coming home
Seems like I'm always on my...Ohhhhhhh
All the stars and boulevards ain't close enough for you...

Far too many... far, far too many. Pretty much most Joy Division songs...
Erm, but this one will do for the thread:
Its been such a long time
And I was just a child then
What will you say
When you see my face?
Time feels like its flown away
The days just pass and fade away
What will you say
When they take my place?
Its funny now
I just dont feel like a man
What will you say
When you see my face?
My face...
Mother dear, the worlds gone cold
No one cares about love anymore
What will you say
When you see my face?
Father do you hear me?
Do you know me?
Do you even care?
What will you say
When they take my place?
My heart cant take this anymore
What will you say
When you see my face?
When you see my,
See my face...
I can feel your time crawling
To a slow end
I can feel my time crawling
To a slow end...
Mother dear, the worlds gone cold
No one cares about love anymore
What will you say
When you see my face?
Father do you hear me?
Do you know me?
Did you even care?
What will you say
When you take my place?
Well its so funny now
I just dont feel like Im a man
What will you say?

Why burn poor and lonely under a bowl or under a lampshade
Or on the shelf beside the bed
Where at night you lay turning like a door on its hinges?...
First on your left side, then on your right side...then your left side again.
Why burn poor and lonely?
Tell all the stones we're gonna make a building...
We'll be cut into shape and set into place
Or if you'd rather be a window, I'll gladly be the frame,
Reflecting any kind words, we'll let in all their blame...
And ruin our reputation all the same.
So never mind our plan making, we'll start living...
Anyway, aren't you unbearably sad?
Then why burn so poor and lonely?
-mewithoutYou - Torches Together
that'll do for now. mewithoutYou are an awsomely lyric'ked band. The guy speaks the words, not songing them. It takes a few songs to get used to but then you start to feel that what he speaks about is hugely important to him. Plus, it's poetic genius.

let down and hanging around,
crushed like a bug in the ground.
Let down and hanging around.
Let down,
Let down,
Let down.
You know, you know where you are with,
you know where you are with,
floor collapsing, falling, bouncing back
and one day, I am gonna grow wings,
a chemical reaction, [You know where you are,]
hysterical and useless [you know where you are,]
hysterical and [you know where you are,]

Faith, originally by George Michael, but made awesome by Limp Bizkit
That song was already as awesome as it could possibly get when George Michael did it!
Down down, you bring me down
I hear you knocking at my door and I cant sleep at night
Your face, it has no place
No room for you inside my house I need to be alone
Turn turn, I wish you'd learn
Theres a time and place for everything I've got to get it through
Cut loose, you're no use
I couldnt stand another second in your company
Stone me, why cant you see
Youre a no-one nowhere washed up baby who'd look better dead
Your tongue is far too long
I dont like the way it sucks and slurps upon my every word
Dont waste your words I dont need anything from you
I dont care where youve been or what you plan to do
I am the resurrection and I am the light
I couldnt ever bring myself to hate you as Id like
Stone Roses-I am the Resurrection - Damn, if your going to dump someonewith the maximum about of bitterness, this is the way to go about it.
When I was a young man I carried my pack
And I lived the free life of a rover
From the Murrays green basin to the dusty outback
I waltzed my Matilda all over
Then in nineteen fifteen my country said Son
It's time to stop rambling 'cause there's work to be done
So they gave me a tin hat and they gave me a gun
And they sent me away to the war
And the band played Waltzing Matilda
As we sailed away from the quay
And amidst all the tears and the shouts and the cheers
We sailed off to Gallipoli
How well I remember that terrible day
How the blood stained the sand and the water
And how in that hell that they called Suvla Bay
We were butchered like lambs at the slaughter
Johnny Turk he was ready, he primed himself well
He chased us with bullets, he rained us with shells
And in five minutes flat he'd blown us all to hell
Nearly blew us right back to Australia
But the band played Waltzing Matilda
As we stopped to bury our slain
We buried ours and the Turks buried theirs
Then we started all over again
Now those that were left, well we tried to survive
In a mad world of blood, death and fire
And for ten weary weeks I kept myself alive
But around me the corpses piled higher
Then a big Turkish shell knocked me arse over tit
And when I woke up in my hospital bed
And saw what it had done, I wished I was dead
Never knew there were worse things than dying
For no more I'll go waltzing Matilda
All around the green bush far and near
For to hump tent and pegs, a man needs two legs
No more waltzing Matilda for me
So they collected the cripples, the wounded, the maimed
And they shipped us back home to Australia
The armless, the legless, the blind, the insane
Those proud wounded heroes of Suvla
And as our ship pulled into Circular Quay
I looked at the place where my legs used to be
And thank Christ there was nobody waiting for me
To grieve and to mourn and to pity
And the band played Waltzing Matilda
As they carried us down the gangway
But nobody cheered, they just stood and stared
Then turned all their faces away
And now every April I sit on my porch
And I watch the parade pass before me
And I watch my old comrades, how proudly they march
Reliving old dreams of past glory
And the old men march slowly, all bent, stiff and sore
The forgotten heroes from a forgotten war
And the young people ask, "What are they marching for?"
And I ask myself the same question
And the band plays Waltzing Matilda
And the old men answer to the call
But year after year their numbers get fewer
Some day no one will march there at all
Waltzing Matilda, Waltzing Matilda
Who'll come a waltzing Matilda with me
And their ghosts may be heard as you pass the Billabong
Who'll come-a-waltzing Matilda with me?
The Pogues-And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda Oh the futility of war, it's enough to bring me to tears when I hear it. Proof if anyone needs it that Shane MacGowan has an amazing talent as a songwriter and lyricist.

The Beatles - For No One
sample:
Your day breaks, your mind aches
You find that all the words of kindness linger on
When she no longer needs you
She wakes up, she makes up
She takes her time and doesn't feel she has to hurry
She no longer needs you
And in her eyes you see nothing
No sign of love behind the tears
Cried for no one
A love that should have lasted years!

Tupac Shakur - Me Against The World
sample:
With all this extra stressin
The question I wonder is after death, after my last breath
When will I finally get to rest? Through this supression
they punish the people that's askin questions
And those that possess, steal from the ones without possesions
The message I stress: to make it stop study your lessons
Don't settle for less - even the genius's ask questions
Be grateful for blessings
Don't ever change, keep your essence
The power is in the people and politics we address
Always do your best, don't let the pressure make you panic
And when you get stranded
And things don't go the way you planned it
Dreamin of riches, in a position of makin a difference
Politicians and hypocrites, they don't wanna listen
If I'm insane, it's the fame made a brother change
It wasn't nuttin like the game
It's just me against the world...

Bob Dillan/Jimi Hendrix - All Along The Watchtower
sample:
"There must be some way out of here," said the joker to the thief,
"There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief.
Businessmen, they drink my wine, plowmen dig my earth,
None of them along the line know what any of it is worth."

Marvin Gaye - Inner City Blues
sample:
Inflation no chance to increase finance
Bills pile up sky high, send that boy off to die
Make me wanna holler, the way they do my life

Big Pun - Wrong Ones (not for the song, but for the verse cos its insane...)
sample:
Cannibalism is infinite in my metabolism
Givin em spasms and aneurisms at baby baptisms
That's all my thugs thinkin bout, drinkin your blood
Boriquans love flooded rugs bloody and bloated mugs
Leavin the reverand decap' and severn when I'm beheadin
The Armageddeon is lettin demons slip into Heaven
Goin back to spiritual ritual times
What you gon' find - shiftings of Satan in critical bind
Nevermind, I do that often, I've risen often
Bust out my coffin, I'm a livin abortion
Battled the Devil and deaded his demons
Trained other beings to be in his different levels of Hell,
still screamin

I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do,
now there's poetry, in an empty coke can.
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do,
now there's majesty, in a burnt out caravan.
You got me off the paper round, just sprang out of the air,
the best things come from nowhere,
I love you, I don't think you care.
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do,
and the symmetry in your northern grin.
I love you through sparks and shining dragons, I do,
I can see myself in the refill litter bin.
You got me off the sofa, just sprang out of the air,
the best things come from nowhere, I can't believe you care.

I wouldn't say theres any song lyrics that changed my life, but some have definatly moved and inspired me.
Tegan & Sara - I Know I Know I Know
from hundreds of miles
you cry like a baby
you plead with me
shout, scream
tell me i'm staying
i know i know i know
i'm still your love
A great song about the hearbreak of a relationship split especially when the love is still there.
The Perishers - Sway
I don't want to hurt you
I don't want to make you sway
Like I know I've done before
I will not do it any more
I've always been a dreamer
Hide my head amongst the clouds
Now that I'm coming down
Won't you be my solid ground?
If these weren't so "we broke up and put each other through shit but we're getting back to almost friends again"-ish they would be perfect for a wedding. So beautifully performed.
Cotton Mather - Lily Dreams On
Lily I hope you picture me in your dreams
Put down your King James Bible, You don't need no kings
Close you eyes, baby I'll dry mine
Echoes through the phone
Far from this, Lily dreams on
Think back to fields of Catherine, you used to play
I swore I heard you laughing
And almost say
Pull your mirrors down to glitter glass
And let the past be gone
Far from this, Lily dreams on
Thats the whole song. Its so moving and dreamy. Also why I want to call my daughter Lilly. (two 'l's is better)
The Format - If Work Permits
It’s a shame what your father did to your brother’s head
He smashed it with a telephone
And your mother got scared and locked the door
You were only four, but lord you remember it
So now you’re scared of love
I’m here to tell you loves not some fucking blood on the receiver
Scares me deeply. Because of both the lyrics and the upbeat tune that accompanies it.
I can't believe the news today
I can't close my eyes and make it go away
How long, how long must we sing this song?
U2 - Sunday Bloody Sunday

There's quite a few lol
Counting Crows - Acidentally in Love
So she said what's the problem baby
What's the problem I don't know
Well maybe I'm in love (love)
Think about it every time
I think about it
Can't stop thinking 'bout it
How much longer will it take to cure this
Just to cure it cause I can't ignore it if it's love (love)
Makes me wanna turn around and face me but I don't know nothing 'bout love
Half Cocked - Bad Reputation
I don't give a damn
'Bout my reputation
I've never been afraid of any deviation
An' I don't really care
If ya think I'm strange
I ain't gonna change
An' I'm never gonna care
'Bout my bad reputation
Avril Lavigne - Loosing Grip
Are you aware of what you make me feel, baby
Right now I feel invisible to you, like I'm not real
Didn't you feel me lock my arms around you
Why'd you turn away?
Here's what I have to say
I was left to cry there, waiting outside there
Burning with a lost stare
That's when I decided
Why should I care
'Cuz you weren't there when I was scared
I was so alone
You, you need to listen
I'm starting to trip, I'm losing my grip
And I'm in this thing alone
Avril Lavigne - Fall to Peices
I looked away
then I look back at you,
You try to say
the things that you can't undo,
If I had my way
I'd never get over you,
Today's the day
I pray that we make it through.
Make it through the fall,
Make it through it all.
And I don't wanna fall to pieces
I just wanna sit and stare at you.
I don't wanna talk about it
And I don't want a conversation
I just wanna cry in front of you.
and I don't wanna talk about it
'Cause I'm in love with you.
I'm in love with you,
'Cause I'm in love with you.
I'm in love with you,
I'm in love with you.

You sir are made of win!! That song made my summer last year.
Ultimate lyric awsomeness
"Dare - dare to believe you can survive
You hold the future in your hand
Dare - dare to keep all of your dreams alive
It's time to take a stand
And you can win, if you dare"
Dare by Stan Bush
He will then be reborn,
From 1970s porn,
Wearing tube socks with style,
And such an innocent smile,
. . . No, it will not be me,
Rufus the baptist i be,
No i won't be the one,
Baptised in cum,
What will happen instead,
Someone will demand my head,
And then i will kneel down,
And give it to them looking down.
Better pray for your sins,
Cos the gay messiah's coming.

Like actually the song I have to play at my wedding/funeral.
Does your girlfriend know she'll be a widow the same day she's a bride?
It's no secret that a conscience can sometimes be a pest
It's no secret ambition bites the nails of success
Every artist is a cannibal, every poet is a thief
All kill their inspiration and sing about their grief
U2 had incredibly good lyrics in their Achtung Baby/Zooropa/Pop era.

I'VE GOT LOADS:
Arcade Fire - Intervention
The king's taken back the throne
The useless seed is sown
When they say they're cutting off the phone
I'll tell 'em you're not home
No place to hide
You were fighting as a soldier on their side
You're still a soldier in your mind
Though nothing's on the line
You say it's money that we need
As if we're only mouths to feed
I know no matter what you say
There are some debts you'll never pay
Working for the church
While your family dies
You take what they give you
And you keep it inside
Every spark of friendship and love
Will die without a home
Hear the solider groan, "We'll cry alone"
I can taste the fear
It's gonna lift me up and take me out of here
Don't wanna fight, don't wanna die
Just wanna hear you cry
Who's gonna throw the very first stone?
Oh! Who's gonna reset the bone?
Walking with your head in a sling
Wanna hear the soldier sing
Been working for the Church
While my family dies
Your little baby sister's
Gonna lose her mind
Every spark of friendship and love
Will die without a home
Hear the soldier groan "We'll go at it alone"
I can taste your fear
It's gonna lift you up and take you out of here
And the bone shall never heal
I care not if you kneel
We can't find you now
But they're gonna get the money back somehow
And when you finally disappear
We'll just say you were never here
Working for the church
While your life falls apart.
Singing hallelujah with the fear in your heart
Every spark of friendship and love
Will die without a home
Hear the soldier groan, "We'll go at it alone"
Hear the soldier groan, "We'll go at it alone"
Jeff Buckley - Forget Her
But don't fool yourself,
she was heartache from the moment that you met her.
My heart is frozen still as I try to find the will to forget her, somehow,
She’s somewhere out there now.
Suicidal Tendencies - Institutionalised
Sometimes I try to do things and it just doesn't work out the way I wanted to. I get real frustrated and I try hard to do it and I take my time and it just doesn't work out the way I wanted to. It seems like I concentrate on it real hard but it just doesn't work out. Everything I do and everything I try never turns out. It's like I need time to figure these things out. But there's always someone there going. Hey Mike: You know we've been noticing you've been having a lot of problems lately. You know, maybe you should get away and like, maybe you should talk about it, maybe you'll feel a lot better. And I go: No it's okay, you know I'll figure it out, just leave me alone I'll figure it out. You know I'll just work it all by myself. And they go: Well you know if you want to talk about it I'll be here you know and you'll probably feel a lot better if you talk about it. Why don’t you talk about it? And I go: No I don't want to I'm okay, I'll figure it out myself and they just keep bugging me and they just keep bugging me and it builds up inside and it builds up inside.
So you're gonna be institutionalized. You'll come out brainwashed with bloodshot eyes.
You won't have any say. They'll brainwash you until you see their way.
I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help to protect me from the enemy, myself
I was in my room and I was just like staring at the wall thinking about everything. But then again I was thinking about nothing. And then my mom came in and I didn't even know she was there she called my name. And I didn't even hear it, and then she started screaming: MIKE! MIKE! And I go: What, what's the matter? And she goes: What's the matter with you? I go: There's nothing wrong mom. And she goes: Don't tell me that, you're on drugs! And I go: No mom I'm not on drugs I'm okay, I was just thinking you know why don't you get me a Pepsi? And she goes: NO you're on drugs! I go: Mom I'm okay, I'm just thinking. She goes: No you're not thinking, you're on drugs! Normal people don't act that way! I go: Mom just give me a Pepsi please! All I want is a Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me! All I wanted was a Pepsi, just one Pepsi, and she wouldn't give it to me. Just a Pepsi!
They give you a white shirt with long sleeves! Tied around your back, you're treated like thieves!
Drug you up because they're lazy! It's too much work to help a crazy!
I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help, to protect me from the enemy, myself
I was sitting in my room and my mom and my dad came in and they pulled up a chair and they sat down, they go: Mike, we need to talk to you. And I go: Okay what's the matter? They go: Me and your mom have been noticing lately that you've been having a lot of problems, you've been going off for no reason and we're afraid you're gonna hurt somebody, we're afraid you're gonna hurt yourself. So we decided that it would be in your best interest if we put you somewhere where you could get the help that you need. And I go: Wait, what are you talking about, we decided!? My best interest?! How can you know what's MY best interest is? How can you say what MY best interest is? What are you trying to say I'm crazy? When I went to your schools, I went to your churches; I went to your institutional learning facilities?! So how can you say I'm crazy?
They say they're gonna fix my brain. Alleviate my suffering and my pain.
But by the time they fix my head. Mentally I'll be dead.
I'm not crazy - institutionalized
You're the one who's crazy - institutionalized
You're driving me crazy - institutionalized
They stuck me in an institution, said it was the only solution
To give me the needed professional help, to protect me from the enemy, myself
It doesn't matter I'll probably get hit by a car anyway.
Props to you for mentioning Intervention Villan, it's got fantastic lyrics.
I'm ahead, I'm a man
I'm the first mammal to wear pants, yeah
I'm at peace with my lust
I can kill cause in God I trust, yeah
It's evolution, baby
I'm at peace, I'm the man
Buying stocks on the day of the crash
On the loose, I'm a truck
All the rolling hills, I'll flatten em out
It's herd behavior
It's evolution, baby
Admire me, admire my home
Admire my song, here's my coat
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
This land is mine, this land is free
I'll do what I want here irresponsibly
It's evolution, baby
I'm a thief, I'm a liar
There's my church, I sing in the choir:
(hallelujah hallelujah)
Admire me, admire my home
Admire my song, admire my clothes
cause we know, appetite for a nightly feast
Those ignorant indians got nothin' on me
Nothing, why?
Because, it's evolution, baby!
I am ahead, I am advanced
I am the first mammal to make plans, yeah
I crawled the earth, but now I'm higher
Twenty-ten, watch it go to fire
It's evolution, baby
It's evolution, baby
Do the evolution
Come on, come on, come on

I'll shall post two Tool lyrics, one because they are good, the other as it amuses me and most of my friends.
Deaf and blind and dumb and born to follow.
Let me lay my holy hand upon you.
My gods' will becomes me. When he speaks, he speaks through me.
He has needs. Like I do. We both want to rape you.
Jesus Christ, why don't you come save my life now.
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will.
I sure could use a vacation from this
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.
Fret for your figure and
Fret for your latte and
Fret for your lawsuit and
Fret for your hairpiece and
Fret for your prozac and
Fret for your pilot and
Fret for your contract and
Fret for your car.
It's a
Bullshit three ring circus sideshow of
Freaks
Here in this hopeless fucking hole we call LA
The only way to fix it is to flush it all away.
Any fucking time. Any fucking day.
Learn to swim, I'll see you down in Arizona bay.
Some say a comet will fall from the sky.
Followed by meteor showers and tidal waves.
Followed by faultlines that cannot sit still.
Followed by millions of dumbfounded dipshits.
Some say the end is near.
Some say we'll see armageddon soon.
I certainly hope we will 'cause
I sure could use a vacation from this
Stupid shit, Silly shit, stupid shit...
One great big festering neon distraction,
I've a suggestion to keep you all occupied.
Learn to swim.
Mom's gonna fix it all soon.
Mom's comin' round to put it back the way it ought to be.
Learn to swim.
Fuck L Ron Hubbard and
Fuck all his clones.
Fuck all these gun-toting
Hip gangster wannabes.
Learn to swim.
Fuck retro anything.
Fuck your tattoos.
Fuck all you junkies and
Fuck your short memory.
Learn to swim.
Fuck smiley glad-hands
With hidden agendas.
Fuck these dysfunctional,
Insecure actresses.
Learn to swim.
'cause I'm praying for rain
And I'm praying for tidal waves
I wanna see the ground give way.
I wanna watch it all go down.
Mom please flush it all away.
I wanna see it go right in and down.
I wanna watch it go right in.
Watch you flush it all away.
Time to bring it down again.
Don't just call me pessimist.
Try and read between the lines.
I can't imagine why you wouldn't
Welcome any change, my friend.
I wanna see it all come down.
put it down.
suck it down.
flush it down.
Edit: Spoilered for page hog.
Turtle Edit: They are both funny actually. L Ron Hubbard lol.
Holy shit I like the edit button EDIT: It appears all Tool songs have amusing lyrics.
This bog is thick and easy to get lost in,
'cus you're a dumb ass, belligerent fucker.
I hope it suck, I hope it suck, I hope it sucks you fucker,
I hope it suck, I hope it suck, I hope it sucks you down.

Sheila goes out with her mate Stella
It gets poured all over her fella
‘Cause she says, "man he ain’t no better
Than the next man kicking up fuss"
Drunk, she stumbles down by a river
Screams calling London
None of us heard her coming; I guess the carpet weren’t rolled out.
Her lingo went from the Cockney to the Gringo,
Anytime she sing a song the other girls sing along,
And tell all the fellas that the lady is single,
Fickle way to tickle on my young man’s ting.
She’s up for doing what she like any day, more like the night.
She downed, drunk sorrows that she stole, bought, borrowed
She didn’t like fights but at the same time understood
Fellas will be fellas 'til the end of time
Bluh!
Jack had a gang that he called "The Many grams",
He was known as Smack Jack the Crackerman,
In life he was dealt some shit hands,
But the boys' got the back now
And Jay went the same way as Micky and Dan
Dependent mans upon the heroin
And man, Lisa had a baby with Sam,
And now Jack’s on his own man
Well done, Jack! Glug! Down that cider
You’re right - she’s a slut and you never fucking liked her
Not like, what, He stopped so shocked,
Cause it turned out the last dance killed the pied piper
Tough little big man,
Friends with your daughters, only ‘cause they drive him to pick up all his quarters.
Brawler, larger lout brawlers, fall to the floor and they're free?
But they ain’t near da border
Too young gunned down held by the corner, always did a favour but never took a order
Behave young scallywag! A fine young Galahad
Glad ragged up, but only ever getting fag hags,
Hung on his shoulder, cheap price shop tags,
Slag better understand he came for the glamour,
But this towns original, superficial the issue,
For one dear Jack, 35 doppelgangers
Sheila goes out with her mate Stella
It gets poured all over her fella
‘Cause she says, "man he ain’t no better
Than the next man kicking up fuss"
Drunk, she stumbles down by a river
Screams calling London
None of us heard her coming; I guess the carpet weren’t rolled out.
So this is a short story about the girl Georgina,
Never seen a worse, clean young mess
Under stress, at best but she pleased to see you
With love, God Bless, we lay her body to rest
Now it all dear started with Daddy’s alcoholic
Lightweight, chinking down, numbing his brain
And the doctor said he couldn’t get the heart dear started,
Now beat up, drugged up, she feeling the strain
She said, “In a rut what the fuck I’m supposed to do?”
Suck it up, start, stop. keep running through,
“True, but you try it ain’t easy to do.”
She been buckle-belt, beaten from the back like a brat
Dunno where she’s going, but she know where she at,
So Georgie - it’s time to chain react
But the truth is, you know, she’ll probably fall back
Tears stream down her face, she screamed away:
“When I fall, no-one catch me,
Alone, lonely, I'll overdose slowly, get scared, I’ll scream and shout” -
But you know it won’t matter she’ll be passing out,
I said gigidy-bigidy-up
Just another day
Another sad story that's tragedy -
Paramedics announced death at 10.30
Rip it up, kick it, spit out the views.
Sheila goes out with her mate Stella
It gets poured all over her fella
‘Cause she says, "man he ain’t no better
Than the next man kicking up fuss"
Drunk, she stumbles down by a river
Screams calling London
None of us heard her coming; I guess the carpet weren’t rolled.
Sheila goes out with her mate Stella
It gets poured all over her fella
‘Cause she says, "man he ain’t no better
Than the next man kicking up fuss"
Drunk, she stumbles down by a river
Screams calling London
None of us heard her coming; I guess the carpet weren’t rolled out.

Also I'm gay, so its unlikely I'll ever have to break the news to a girlfriend.

Dance With My Father Again
Back when I was a child
Before life removed all the innocence
My father would lift me high
And dance with my mother and me and then
Spin me around till I fell asleep
Then up the stairs he would carry me
And I knew for sure
I was loved
If I could get another chance
Another walk, another dance with him
I’d play a song that would never, ever end
How I’d love, love, love to dance with my father again
I know I’m prayin’ for much too much
But could You send back the only man she loved
I know You don’t do it usually
But Lord, she’s dyin’ to dance with my father again
Every night I fall asleep
And this is all I ever dream

Homophobe lololololol
once had no fears
None at all
And then when
I had some
To my surprise
I grew to like both
Scared or brave
Without them
The thrill of fear
Thought I'd never admit it
The thrill of fear
Now greatly enjoyed with courage
When I once was
Untouchable
Innocence roared
Still amazes
When I once was
Innocent
It's still here
But in different places
Neurosis
Only
Attaches
Itself to
Fertile
Ground
Where it can flourish
The thrill of fear
Thought I'd never admit it
The thrill of fear
Now greatly enjoyed with courage
When I once was
Fearless !
Innocence roared
Still amazes
Untouchable
Innocence
It's still here
But in different places
Fear is a powerful drug
Overcome it and
You think that you can do
Anything!
Should I
Save myself
For later
Or generously give?
Fear of
Losing
Energy
Is draining
It locks up your chest
Shuts down the heart
Miserly
And stingy
Let's open up : share!
When I once was
Fearless
Innocence roared
Still amazes
Untouchable
Innocence
It's still here
But in different places

I know the pieces fit
'Cause I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smouldering
Fundamental differing
Pure intention juxtaposed
Will set two lovers' souls in motion
Disintegrating as it goes
Testing our communication
The light that feuled our fire then
Has a burned a hole between us so
We cannot see to reach an end
Crippling our communication
I know the pieces fit
'Cause I watched them tumble down
No fault, none to blame
It doesn't mean I don't desire to
Point the finger, blame the other
Watch the temple topple over
To bring the pieces back together
Rediscover communication
The poetry
That comes from the squaring off between
And the circling is worth it
Finding beauty in the dissonance
There was a time that the pieces fit
But I watched them fall away
Mildewed and smouldering
Strangled by our coveting
I've done the math enough to know
The dangers of our second guessing
Doomed to crumble unless we grow
And strengthen our communication
Cold silence has
A tendency to
Atrophy any
Sense of compassion
Between supposed brothers
Between supposed lovers

How much is real?
So much to question
An epidemic of the mannequins
contaminating everything
We thought came from the heart
But never did right from the start
Just listen to the noises
(Null and void instead of voices)
Before you tell yourself
It's just a different scene
Remember it's just different from what you've seen
I'm looking at you through the glass
Don't know how much time has passed
And all I know is that it feels like forever
But no one ever tells you that forever feels like home
Sitting all alone inside your head
Stone sour-Through the Glass. I was obsessed with that song for a while.

I have been singing El President by Drugstore, in my head all day.
Drugstore
Yeah yeah ya...
Came from the skies
Burst through the gates
With no mercy or disguise
With their hearts set out in flames
I know; Ive seen the masterplan...
Well Im just a man
(I am just a man)
Im not giving in
All the people understand
cos they all fell down and prayed
I know;
Ive seen the masterplan:
kill the president
They killed the president
They killed the president
Came from the skies
(came from the skies)
In all shades of green
We can always justify
We can measure up your dreams
I know;
Ive seen the masterplan:
kill the president
They killed the president
Yeah yeah ya...
Yeah yeah ya...
Yeah yeah ya...
They killed the president
Theyve killed the president
Im just a man

Changes by 2pac
I see no changes wake up in the morning and I ask myself
is life worth living should I blast myself?
I'm tired of bein' poor & even worse I'm black
my stomach hurts so I'm lookin' for a purse to snatch
Cops give a damn about a negro
pull the trigger kill a nigga he's a hero
Give the crack to the kids who the hell cares
one less hungry mouth on the welfare
First ship 'em dope & let 'em deal the brothers
give 'em guns step back watch 'em kill each other
It's time to fight back that's what Huey said
2 shots in the dark now Huey's dead
I got love for my brother but we can never go nowhere
unless we share with each other
We gotta start makin' changes
learn to see me as a brother instead of 2 distant strangers
and that's how it's supposed to be
How can the Devil take a brother if he's close to me?
I'd love to go back to when we played as kids
but things changed, and that's the way it is
[Chorues with changing ad libs]
Come on come on
That's just the way it is
Things'll never be the same
That's just the way it is
aww yeah
[Repeat]
[Verse 2]
I see no changes all I see is racist faces
misplaced hate makes disgrace to races
We under I wonder what it takes to make this
one better place, let's erase the wasted
Take the evil out the people they'll be acting right
'cause mo' black and white is smokin' crack tonight
and only time we chill is when we kill each other
it takes skill to be real, time to heal each other
And although it seems heaven sent
We ain't ready, to see a black President, uhh
It ain't a secret don't conceal the fact
the penitentiary's packed, and it's filled with blacks
But some things will never change
try to show another way but you stayin' in the dope game
Now tell me what's a mother to do
bein' real don't appeal to the brother in you
You gotta operate the easy way
"I made a G today" But you made it in a sleazy way
sellin' crack to the kid. " I gotta get paid,"
Well hey, well that's the way it is
[Chorus]2X
[2pac Talking]
We gotta make a change...
It's time for us as a people to start makin' some changes.
Let's change the way we eat, let's change the way we live
and let's change the way we treat each other.
You see the old way wasn't working so it's on us to do
what we gotta do, to survive.
[Verse 3]
And still I see no changes can't a brother get a little peace
There's war in the streets and war in the middle east
Instead of war on poverty they got a war on drugs
so the police can bother me
And I ain't never did a crime I ain't have to do
But now I'm back with the facts givin' em back to you
Don't let 'em jack you up, back you up,
crack you up and pimps Smack you up
You gotta learn to hold ya own
they get jealous when they see ya with ya mobile phone
But tell the cops they can't touch this
I don't trust this when they try to rush I bust this
That's the sound of my tool you say it ain't cool
my mama didn't raise no fool
And as long as I stay black I gotta stay strapped
& I never get to lay back
'Cause I always got to worry 'bout the pay backs
some buck that I roughed up way back
comin' back after all these years
rat-a-tat-tat-tat-tat that's the way it is uhh
Chorus 2x
Some things will never change...
best lyrics ever imo.

Because I'm bored, moresies:
Neko Case - Hold On Hold On
The most tender place in my heart is for strangers
I know it's unkind but my own blood is much too dangerous
Gotta love being closed off.
Gym Class Heroes - The Queen and I
I love it how she breathes booze in the mornin'
Man, it's so sexy how she can't remember last night
I made a fatal mistake letting her drink again
Well who the hell am I to tell her how to live her life?
The whole song really but thought I'd chose that. It reminds me of my friend who is so damn hot and I know nothing will ever happen but we're so close so at least it looks good to others as we tend to get touchy on the dance floor and every guy there wants her.
Louis XIV - Pledge of Allegiance
She says head case head case
Turn that thing around
Let's play a game when you hear me make a sound
Just go quite a bit faster
Pretend that I'm gagged and bound
Oh how I love to hear that sound
Milkshake milkshake I love to feel you sweat
We don't have to go to the pool
If you want me to make you wet
Can you keep a secret
Because the best little secrets are kept
And you're my best little secret yet
Smutty and I love it.

Thoughts Of A Dying Atheist - Muse
Eerie whispers
trapped beneath my pillow
won't let me sleep
your memories
I know you're in this room
I'm sure I heard you sigh
floating in-between
where our worlds collide
It scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see
and it scares the hell out of me
and the end is all I can see
yea yea yeaaaaa yea yea
yea yea yea
yea yea o aaa oaaaaaaa!!
It is, as with all Muse songs, much better when heard sung with the music. :heh:

Patrick Park - Life is a song.
You say life is a dream where we can't say what we mean
Maybe just some roadside scene that we're driving past
There's no telling where we'll be in a day or in a week
And there's no promises of peace or of happiness
Well is this why you cling to every little thing
And polverize and derrange all your senses
Maybe life is a song but you're scared to song along
Until the very ending
Oh, it's time to let go of everything we used to know
Ideas that strengthen who we've been
It's time to cut ties that won't ever free our minds
From the chains and shackles that they're in
Oh, tell me what good is saying that you're free
In a dark and storming sea
You're chained to your history, you're surely sinking fast
You say that you know that the good Lord's in control
He's gonna bless and keep your tired and oh so restless soul
But at the end of the day when every price has been paid
You're gonna rise and sit beside him on some old seat of gold
And won't you tell me why you live like you're afraid to die
You'll die like you're afraid to go
Oh, it's time to let go of everything we used to know
Ideas that strengthen who we've been
It's time to cut ties that won't ever free our minds
From chains and shackles that they're in
From the chains and shackles that they're in
Well life is a dream 'cause we're all walking in our sleep
You could see us stand in lines like we're dead upon our feet
And we build our house of cards and then we wait for it to fall
Always forget how strange it is just to be alive at all
I've bolded my fav bits.

All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere
Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow
And I find it kind of funny
I find it kind of sad
The dreams in which I'm dying
Are the best I've ever had
I find it hard to tell you
I find it hard to take

I wanted to know you
I wanted to show you
Avril Lavigne
Seriously, though, that's like saying Agatha Christie is a good writer (she had great ideas, don't get me wrong, but the woman couldn't write artistically. It's like reading a tv guide with an interesting plot). Do you really mean that, or are you joking? I mean... AVRIL LAVIGNE? :wtf:

Rascall Flatts - What Hurts The Most
I can take the rain on the roof of this empty house
That don't bother me
I can take a few tears now and then and just let them out
I'm not afraid to cry every once in a while
Even though going on with you gone still upsets me
There are days every now and again I pretend I'm ok
But that's not what gets me
What hurts the most
Was being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was tryin' to do
It's hard to deal with the pain of losing you everywhere I go
But I'm doin' It
It's hard to force that smile when I see our old friends and I'm alone
Still Harder
Getting up, getting dressed, livin' with this regret
But I know if I could do it over
I would trade give away all the words that I saved in my heart
That I left unspoken
What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
What hurts the most
Is being so close
And having so much to say
And watching you walk away
And never knowing
What could have been
And not seeing that loving you
Is what I was trying to do
Not seeing that loving you
That's what I was trying to do
Ooohhh....

lol
yup i meant it, the song just kinda describes (if theres a better one PLEASE tell me) when you have a mate, who has all these other mates you dont know, you try and get to know them and they just ignore you. I can relate to it and quite a few of her other songs which is why like em', though as I said find a better one for me and i'll gladly listen to it. You have to hear a few of the songs that weren't released on the albums, its not all just the meaningless shite she had to write for "radio play"

Yep Caris.
That song is awesome, especially the particular sequence it plays over in a certain show.
