No MMO but a proper sequel to StarCraft.

And I must say it does look really good however I've never played a StarCraft or a WarCraft for that matter and my pc at the moment probably couldn't run it :(.

I was thinking about making a thread this morn till i thought it may have been too niche, anywho . . .
i can't wait!!! Like all blizzard stuff its getting released for PC and Mac, so i should finally have something to stretch my mac's graphics card out on.
Kinda wished there was a release date but i think it'll be early next year.

I absolutely cannot wait for this!
Though I'm probably gonna have to buy a new PC (OR mac?!) for it. My current one has been arsey about playing a lot of games for about a year. Damn it.
The video I saw on IGN looks gorgeous.

Thank you god!!! I'm so happy they made this dicision! And it looks so good, while still feeling the same.
I think i might try to play some warcraft 3 online later, see if its possible, if not i'll just play campaign mode.

they have brief descriptions on the Starcraft 2 webby site. i didnt play the first one but i'm kinda tempted to see if i can find a copy cheap . . .

Doesn't look like there will be any new races. They made it quite clear that there are only going to be 3 playable races. Terran, Zerg and Protoss.
Oh and Takeo, DEFINITELY see if you pick the first one up. Such an awesome game. The 3 races play so differently, it's just so much fun. The only complaint I have with it now is the maximum resolution it runs at is something really small so you can't see that much of the map at once. Didn't notice that as a problem 'BACK IN THE DAY' but now it's a bit irritating.
looking at the box online i've saw the game before in CEX, so i'll have a look later, i won't buy it till after exams however. *sigh*

A little dissapointed that it wasnt an MMO, but still awesome.

too niche for this bored at this time, i mean not much is known yet, as with most things blizzard we find out stuff like a month or so before launch lol
Korea is happy, pro gamers are pissed they have to learn a new game to make their money though.

i don't even know how to buy from sellers on amazon, i assume its ebay like but without paypal?
would i be better off getting starcraft or the cheaper expansion for warcraft III?

£20 seems a lot to me for an almost 10 year old game . . . it think i'm getting either this or frozen throne of simcity 4 for my mac ATM i only have WoW and FM2006 for it.
Bought frozen throne of amazon for £5 with P&P, still gunna try and find starcraft for under a tenner.
Got starcraft and diablo II for 8.98 from HMV ^_^

Frozen Throne is lame compared to Starcraft. In fact W3 was a big let down altogether. W2 was so much better. But of course SC rules all. I mean all.

Also is it wrong that i think C&C: Red alert 2 is the greatest RTS game i've played? (still haven't played starcraft owing to revision)

i had that as well, didnt grab me like C&C did. i think i just loved the cut scenes and the cold war theme. Post exam battle ^_^

Defo. I'm getting annoyed at playing with people whose language I can't understand.
Best maps to play are the "faSTeSt eVER MapS". All the resources are basically infinate so it's all about the violence. :D

The kicker is i havent finished WC3 yet :'( I know about the frozen throne etc cos i read the story on the WoW site-still it'll be fun to play through it all instead of just reading it.

I'll keep my RTS itch scratched, focusing on WC3 and SC as i can't get dawn of war for mac, which reminds me i need to give that game to a lucky friend of mine, dunno who yet though . . .

Had a great game last night, protracted over several hours by pauses and stuff, but we played an ace map: basically it's a long thin strip with resource bases scattered up and down at various points. It went on for so long we used up all of the resources on the map, bar one base I'd not used. Stuart ran out of stuff and I ended up winning.
Bastard nearly had me at one point though. managed to sneak a flock of overlords stuffed with Ultralisks in to my main base. Trashed a fuck load of stuff before my scout armarda could put them down :(
Anyone up for a game, pm me and we'll get msn involved for some games
Exams over now! It's Starcraft time!
