Metroid Prime : Pinball is set to be the first Nintendo DS game to take advantage of the new Rumble Pack. The rumble pack is not new to portable gaming, with GBC games like Pokémon Pinball taking advantage of a small sized rumble pack built into the cart.

This time though, the rumble pack slots into the GBA slot on your DS to allow you to feel every bounce of the ball and every thwack of the flippers. For now, Metroid Pinball is the only announced title to utilize this feature - but seeing as there are no Metroid specific engravings on the rumble pack itself, it seems as if more games in the future will make use of this awesome addition.

Possibly the most surprisingly part is that the rumble pack is a snug fit in the DS's GBA slot - many expected a bulky add on, but this GBA cart sized rumble feature looks superb. The device will not require additional batteries as it will power itself using the DS' internal battery - this may cut playing time by 1 hour maximum - but surely it is worth it.

Interesting, I wonder if they'll add the rumble feature to Metroid Hunters?

Also now I see why the DS cases have that GBA slot in them :D

True, but i think this is going to ROCK, seriously, they must of learnt from their mistakes with Mario Pinball (which i kinda liked at first, but then got worse the more i played).

I preordered Metroid Pinball in August, also the graphics look cool as well!

Metroid Pinball is released October 24th 2005 in the USA! SO NEXT WEEK! :D

i remember how a lot of people said that pinball was going to be a shit game. it still might be but does look decent enough, but metroid has never let me down nor has zelda and Kirby.

This'll be my next DS game. I love Metroid but I don't really like pinball games. Let's hope it's a good combination, looks really good anyway.

IGN say it makes to much noise, they prefer to play without it...

Kirby Air Ride wasn't perfect, but it's not half as bad as some people make out. Most people who criticise it haven't even played it, I've found.. I certainly spent a lot longer on Kirby Air Ride than on Double Dash, which got boring after about a week, once you've unlocked everything.

Anyway, back on topic, I expect I'll give this game a go - I haven't played a pinball game in years. Shame the reports on the rumble pack aren't good. You don't want to just hear clicking when you're playing a game with it.

the good thing about kirby air ride was a lot of stuff to unlock and was fun and easy to play (well for me it was) and there was also the sound tester they put some really good songs on kirby games.

back on to the topic, hope after the realese metroid pinball they can make more games compatible with the rumble... hmmmm i wonder if sony are right now trying to put a rumble in there PSP.

This incentive has made me consider getting Metroid pinball. And the fact that I want to be to able to play a mean pinball.. and maybe become a pinball wizard. The Who asi
de, I think there will be people like me who will give it shot because of the free rumble pack.

Yeah, but they also say it doesn't make much of a rumble and so they think it could be broken. Considering that previous game with rumble were able to fit the mechanism in a cartridge alongside the game, a cartridge dedicated to the rumble feature should be able to produce the effect easily enough, so the suspicion of it being broken could prove to be quite likely.

Just for the record I have played air ride and while its "its bad" its certainly not up there was the kirby classic's. But hey Kirby - you got to love him really!

Gamespot gave it 8.2 and a video review but they said on low volumes that you can hear it. So maybe IGN's wasn't broken :hmm:
I hope that some thrid party developers use this. Like Final Fantasy 3 where if you are hit it rumbles :awesome:
