I agree, I wish it was easier to see when friends were online. I assume the trek to the GTS is gone once you get Fly HM, though.

Btw, normal rules are:

-Lvl 50/100 battles (you can set it so that they automatically rise to lvl 50 or lvl 100 on wifi).
-No Double Team or any attack of the likes
-No ubers
-No use of Pokemon obtained through cheating devices such as Gameshark.

For all the ppl who like their mystery gifts...
Go to the Jubilife TV Station and find the producer (3rd floor i think)
He will ask what you think of TV.
Put "EVERYONE HAPPY".
Then he will ask for feedback. Put "WI-FI CONNECTION".
This unlocks the "Mystery Gift" option at the main menu. Save your game and restart the DS.
Then select "Mystery Gift" on the main menu. You will have 3 options:
Obtain via Friend, Obtain via Wireless or Obtain via WFC.
When Nintendo/pokemon inc release the "event Pokemon" you can download them using WFC.

Ok, well I'm thinking of getting an import of Diamond from the US and I want to know if there are any region limits like over games whilst online, e.g: Mario Strikers Charged.

In other words I want to know if you get restricted to a certain region, and if you do, would I get restricted to the US Region of Wi-Fi, and only be playing with people with the US version of the game, and not ones with the English one when it comes out?

Don't worry, there's no region restrictions with pokemon. However it is still unknown whether a US diamond will connect to a UK battle revolution.

Sorry to tell you, but you can't...it's an exclusive of the Diamond version...

In compensation, Bagon is a Pearl version exclusive, so get one of those instead :)

However my five year old son has recently got in to pokemon and has made it his life's mission to complete the pokedex.

We are very close to having a team of level 100's now and were wondering whether online battles help fill your pokedex and mean that you've seen pokemon so you can get them from the GTS.

As far as I know, no it doesn't work like that. Last summer when Pearl/ Diamond came out I was hoping to get a Manaphy from the GTS through just having seen it in an online battle, but I couldn't. Had to do a trade and trade back with someone to get it in my Pokédex before searching and getting one on the GTS.

That might just apply to legendaries though, who knows!

I don't have a Magby but when you get surf you can go to fuego works there are magmar's there get 1 girl and 1 female and breed them but you would have to wait ti'll you get 5 gym badges
