I just finished watching the latest episode. Has to rank as one of the saddest in the history of the show, if not the saddest. Has anyone else seen it and what do you think of the season so far?

Happenstance

Yeah ive seen it, ive enjoyed season 6 so far, its been better than season 5 which i think wasnt brilliant.

As for the latest episode, it was good but I think it should have been better. The dead person walking around with you has been done before with Brendan Fraiser and I think it was pulled off a lot better in that episode.

once again proves they've still got it. I think it was a fantastic episode really, and nearly up there with My Screw Up. Carla's goodbye to nurse roberts was brilliant. really sad scene.

Really good episode (Besides the robot stuff, wtf?). It didn't make me shed some tears at the end like My Old Lady and my Screw Up did, but excellent drama all the same.
I was sure they were going to have Laverne live and kill off Jordan during her C-section. Bill Lawrence said that someone who has been in every season, but wasn't a main character was going to die. I was so sure that he was going to try and trick everyone.
I'll miss Laverne, her sass and Jesus talk made her the best background character of the show imo :(
The Cox bald jokes were great.

Apparently they wanted to use Ben's ghost (because Dr Cox did see him before) but couldn't because Brendan Fraser was filming in Europe. Fact.

To be honest thats who I thought would turn up when Carla asked him the question. Would've been kool.

That sucks. Ben was my favourite guest on the show and My Screw Up and My Hero are my favourite episodes.
Supposedly, the concept for the episode where Carla visits her mother's grave was originally going to be Dr. Cox visiting Ben's. And Cox actually talking to him. Which according to my calculator, would have been a million times cooler than what we got.

He defintely was the best guest star on the show, closely followed by Michael J Fox id say.

I like House, but everytime I watch it I feel like i'm watching Dr. Cox lite y'know?
Anyway, I watched this episode again and it really got to me a lot more the second time :(
Although nothing beats My Old Lady/My Screw Up for utterly depressing endings that made me cry. I still remember watching the first episode when it first aired on Sky One all those years ago and laughing at everything Laverne said :D
Why couldn't it have been Todd or Ted? Or even Enid? Laverne was always consitently funny, even when the show faltered during last half of season four and season five.
Ah well. it still makes great TV. The only show that's ever made me care about it's characters and what happens to them like Scrubs does is Enterprise.

Yeah out of all the characters that could have been killed off I'm glad they chose her.

I thought they would've shown Ben instead of Jill, he is such a great and funny character. It's a shame he was killed off, I thought they could have used him a lot more but I suppose it's more of a shock and more realistic I suppose.

Also, yeah The Todd rules! The best Todd moment has to be the bit where Turk and Todd are fighting all the other surgeons to get Dr Win's (dunno spelling) suitcase and Todd gives Turk a 'betrayal five'.

I seem to be in the minority. I like that song but I prefer others. I really like 'Dominican', dunno why. The latino vibe I guess. That and 'Everything Comes Down to Poo' for its quotability and for the fact if you sing a line from that randomly it causes everyone to go "what the hell?"

And yes brendan fraser was the best, especially when he was acting like a puppet master for Elliot Reid, I laughed so much at that!

I haven't seen the latest one on account of being away at friends' all easter, but I will. The first 14 episodes have been absolutely a return to form: the greatest sitcom there ever has been or will be. The only episode that I thought wasn't all that was "My Night To Remeber"...but it's totally saved by JD's line "I keep playing them over in my head like a bad sitcom that's too lazy to come up with a fresh story." So yeah, so far, I like it better than seasons 4 and 5. Here's hopin the rest are up to scratch.

Can't be arsed to find production codes and such but was it filmed before most of the others. Considering JCM is bald in that episode, and has hair again until the recent ones. Seems random they would shift it around so much though. Or did JMC just wear a wig until they worked it into the storyline?

MunKy

Me reckons they were told to make a clip show and filmed it after the others had been done.

But wasn't Private Dancer's storyline concluded in that episode? Thus they couldn't have tacked it on at the end because otherwise, if they had never done this storyline, he would have just remained in Sacred Heart forever and ever?

Question: Scrubs is going to revisit the J.D./Elliot romance? I'm not complaining, I just thought Bill Lawrence ended it for good a few seasons ago.— Paola

Ausiello: I thought so, too! Turns out the little sadist couldn't resist messing with the two of them just as they're about to undergo major life changes (her upcoming engagement to Keith, his reunion with a very pregnant Dr. Kim). "J.D.'s about to have a baby with Kim, and Elliot's getting married," he explains. "Their entire lives are going to change and they're not even sure that they want them to. To me, it's more about two scared, pathetically inept people that have a sexual past possibly taking the easy way out." That said, since next season will likely be the show's last, Scrubs' boss man isn't ruling anything out. "Our writing staff is split down the middle," he says. "I'm on the side that thinks that Elliot and J.D. aren't really a couple and it's not worth doing, and then half the writing staff feels that, ultimately, they should end up together. It's a constant argument."

Ashley

A good episodes with lots of great fantasties; highlights being Cox's fantasty sequence of being married to Elliot, and of course Carla's.

Old people with syphillis is pretty gross, and then hearing an old lady go on about how great sex was was a bit...eww. Although the 'GILF' shirt was amusing.

I like how JD is interested in Elliot again. Its so in-character because she seems to be this idolised woman who he always escapes too when other things in his life doesn't work out.

First of all, I'm glad Scrubs is going for a dramatic conclusion and building towards a big finale. Makes a good change for there to be a building storyline.

A good episode, although the Dr. Toilet thing was a bit bland. Everything else was good I thought (although I couldn't help but think that in conferences the speaker's names would be on the programmes so unless J.D. & Turk just stumbled in without paying attention they should have seen).

Cheese-grater to the nards. Harsh.

And in other news its cancelled (http://www.tvsquad.com/2007/05/11/nbc-news-goodbye-scrubs-hello-lipstick-jungle/#comments) oh wait not its not (http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Exclusive-Nbc-Renews/800014830). Or is it?

When Elliot said "There's no way I can get out of this" I thought they were going to elope. Maybe they still will, maybe the start of next season they decide to give it their all and have the wedding Elliot planned with Keith (its a sitcom, that kind of implausible event is plausible)

As far as the episode itself. Was alright. Didn't laugh much but I don't see that as a bad thing. Its a finale, big things need to happen. Still...meh.

Personally, I think JD should end up with Molly Clock again. Granted shes been gone for years but who didn't love Molly Clock/Heather Graham?

Speaking of season 6, there hasn't really been any good music like there usually is. I mean in the last scene they could have gotten something better, like in Season 2 they have "Dreaming of You" by the coral in that scene with JD and Eliot, which I thought was perfect, and there have been other brilliant uses of music, but I thought they could have done a much better job this season.

So who is everyones favourite out of JDs girlfriends/dates throughout the seasons (excluding Elliot I think).

I think mine would have to be Mandy Moore. Not only was she very hot in it but I really liked her character. Plus as Braff and Moore were going out at the time they worked well together on screen.

Yeah, Julie was awesome...TCW was also awesome. Kim's also pretty awesome.

Heather Graham would probably be my second favourite. But I always thought her and JD seemed really forced. It was like they just threw it in their in the episode where she was leaving. She was much better as just the weird quirky doctor who was Elliots new best friend.

but she's *so* fit :)

Tara Reid was pretty amusing.

Tara Reid and Heather Grahem were awesome, and Heather was damn hot.

The only other J.D. girlfriends I can think of are Gift Shop Girl, who other than the "I promise you on all the gifts in her shop" line was meh, and the 'ballbuster' lawyer.

Through clever guess work someone has figured out the date for Season Six in the UK: Thursday 28th June 9pm on E4

I don't really like the lawyer woman. Whenever I re-watch episodes I always dodge the ones with her in. Same with TCW, theres loadsa funny stuff but they make the episodes tiresome after a few views.

I didn't like Nina either. She was a bit shit.

She wasnt the best character but I thought her "Ball Busting" sequence was brilliant

Nina was awesome because she bought about several great moments, such as:

She wasnt the best character but I thought her "Ball Busting" sequence was brilliant

"I'm wearing a cup!"

"Thanks for the crotch update"

LOL.

And the sad pancake face. Plus the hopeless Ted who froze when he saw her.

TCW was also awesome because she resulted in the 99 Luftbaloons gag. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that.

They both had their classic moments, as most people in Scrubs do, but episodes without them are better. I may just be sick of TCW cuz I've seen them so many times. I'll re-watch the ones with Nina.

When "Scrubs" creator Bill Lawrence decided last season to kill off Nurse Laverne Roberts -- one of the show's key supporting characters -- he made a promise to thesp Aloma Wright.

Should "Scrubs" return for a seventh season, he told Wright, she could don a new wig and play Laverne's twin sister, Shirley.

When Lawrence first plotted Nurse Roberts' death, he was pretty certain that "Scrubs" was in its final year. Mapping out the final year's storylines, he decided the death of a series regular would help shake things up.

"Needless to say, I was a little shocked," Wright said. "I felt abused."

For most actors killed off in primetime's recent fatality spree (think "Lost" or "Desperate Housewives"), plot twists have meant a return to the employment office. But Lawrence said he "didn't want to take work away from an actor" -- hence that bit of insurance for Wright in case "Scrubs" did return.

A seventh season wasn't assured until the weekend before the upfront presentations last month, when NBC narrowly opted to renew "Scrubs" for one last year. Now, Lawrence is keeping his promise, and Wright has been given the opportunity to play a character who's the polar opposite of the spiritually minded Laverne: a single, alcoholic woman who shuns religion.

"It's going to be fun developing another character after doing the same one for six years," Wright said. "I'm glad to know he's a man of his word and I've still got a job."

Hmm. Complete opposite twins? Lame. Reusing the same actor? Lame. And by the sounds of it she has no relevence to the hospital at all. Couldn't they just have Leverne chasing Carla around as she did in that one episode as a ghost?

I actually think that sounds good. She was a good actor and id be happy to see her back as Lavernes twin. Wonder who everyone will have to answer to with her though, obviously not Jesus

I actually thought of one decent "evil" twin brother played by the same actor; George and Oscar (Im Oscar!) Bluth in Arrested Development. Although Oscar was more the "somewhat good" twin. Lets hope they can do something as good as that with Laverne.

After re watching the eps with Nina, I have decided that they are better than I remember. Her final thing with Todd was great and (I think) the 1st time we get 100% confirmation that the Todd has been with a woman.

Didn't she just send him to the car? For all we know it could have been for show (ie "Stuff you I can get whoever I want and do what I want with them then discard them") and just tossed him out when she got there as im sure she would have been repulsed by him.

Fair point. I just like to think the Todd got lucky. He delivers so much comedy and the character gets so little in return. I feel sorry for him. At least he "doinked" Lisa.
