Don't complicate things, just ask for a pint of [you're beer of choice].

EDIT: OK, just noticed you're female so please DO NOT take my advice. Women drinking pints is just wrong. :nono:

Yeah this all depends on what you like but if you don't drink then don't drink, just get anything that you would like.

Amaretto is a nice sweet liquer, it might be a good choice if you've not yet got a taste for alcoholic drinks. Amaretto Sour is the traditional mix, which uses lemon. Amaretto and Coke has a cherry taste.

A plain old coke and vodka is good.

Or try a shaken, not stirred, vodka martini? :heh:

I should probably just add that what you drink depends on where you are ie. the local pub/a bar/a club/a restaurant etc.

Vodka and orange I'd say would be the best choice. If not then a vodka and coke.

If they do cocktails I recommend Illusion's, Levitation's and Green Frog's.

Failing that, just get yourself some cider.

Ah, another Amaretto man, I salute you sir! Only problem being that you can't actually find it in most bars.

Going for something strongish? Ask for a double vodka and red bull. Jagermeister if they do it. If you want to start off with something light just ask for a pint of anything other than Fosters, Carling or Carlsberg. Guinness preferrably ;).

You want something strong? A Belfast Carbomb, that'll blow your features off lol :heh: no but really, what about...Bailey's and ice? It's nice and sweet. Most girls I know drink alcopops like Archer's or Bacardi Breezers, maybe you'd like to try those?

Guinness preferrably ;).

Good man yourself!

Stick with something you like. If you like vodka mix it with either white lemonade or coke or a juice or cordial. No need for doubles or cocktails.

If you don't like vodka you could for a West coast cooler, or even white/red wine if you like wine.

If you like beers, go for a bottled one, pints are very un-ladylike!

Dan Dare

DO NOT DRINK CARLING.

I'd suggest a vodka mix of some sort- they're usually sweet enough in singles to just taste like coke with a kick to it or whatever. if you're not used to beer, forget about it for now. It's a stronger taste and takes a maturing pallet to get used to. Just remember to take it easy with spirits as they have a tendency to come back and haunt yo punk ass later in the night than you might expect.

best of luck anyway!

I guess a mix of vodka and coke is okay, but my preferred drink (when I still used to go out with friends) was usually a Martini Bianco. I just like the taste of it.

Ew, vodka and coke is nasty. Whoever originally thought that up was nuts.

Just have it with juice :/ Vodka and orange or something....

Gin and Tonic always seems popular with the ladies (although I find a bit too sour tasting), then you got the plain old vodka and coke which reasonably pleasant. A Baileys is another popular one as it's quite sweet but also have a bit of a alcoholic kick. Finally if you fancy something fruity there is Barcardi Breezers in various flavours (apple, orange, pineapple etc. etc.) or if they have it Fruli which is a strawberry flavour Belgian beer. Alternatively you could just go the non-alcoholic route and get a J20.

Anyway, if you're not used to drinking be careful and take your time or it could catch you unawares.

A good old gin/vodka tonic will so wonders.. with a slice of lime. Oooooh yes.

Whatever you order to night, be carefull. A too strong drink can ruin the night.

Good advice to follow, have a drink, have fun - but don't get ratarsed. You could do something you might regret later...

Thanks for the ideas you bunch of alcos.
What i'm planning to do i think is order some Baileys and ice and then maybe a gin and tonic. Then if i still feel uptight and nervous (why i want to drink in the first place) then i'm going to go to the bathroom and down a vodka shot (i'm going to put some in my bag). That's my plan! He'll probably think i REALLY can't handle my drink if i get that drunk on a gin and tonic, but who cares! The important thing is that i can relax.

My philosophy is: if you don't like to drink, why drink at all? If you're not used to it and go for something too strong you'll just get drunk fast and sick fast.

Ewww, am I the only one who thinks Baileys is a horrible horrible drink that makes me want to vomit just by smelling it? I tasted it once and it's just gross. D:

And be careful with that plan of yours; I'm not sure you'd want to get drunk. Sure it might "relax" you, but you might end up doing/saying stuff you don't want to say. Just some small drinks (glass of wine?) could help you a lot better with relaxing I think. Or don't drink at all if that really isn't your thing; don't feel forced to drink because others do it.

havana club rum and ginger ale and tell them to squeeze the god dam limes into it, as it makes all the differance...........dont drink vodak especialy if you dont drink................or just go for wine its much more lady like and its great for social banter, just dont drink too fast........or you can just go all out and order taquila but dont blame me if you end up in a strange bed or the gutter in the morn......lol i love that shit

Don't know how effeminate they are but I always mostly drink either Jagermeister with a mixer or a Black Russian.
Seeing as they arn't pints might be alright.

And my advice is to not take those vodka shots, just be nervous.
He might find it cute.
I know I'd rather be with a girl who was a little nervous than wasted.

Never mix drinks, that is the first rule. Especially beer and wine, if you have both of them in the same night (quite a lot of each) you're guarenteed to be sick.

Does anyone else not drink at all, because they don't like alcohol?

I'm yet to find something alcoholic I like to drink. I have nothing morally against it. I've tried a couple different beers, wine, and Vodka.

After a few (a lot of) drinks you don't notice the taste. So yeah, my advice to you is to just drink as much as you can as quickly as possible.

I dont drink alcohol for a number of reasons
1) too darn expensive
2) dont see the point - especially when poeple get drunk and get sick / sore heads in the morning
3) i can get quite hyper / drunk-esque on coke and dr pepper...lol
4) my parents drink and ive seen the bad effects
5) and i think the smell of it is stinking

One of my mates gets really drunk after like 3 beers, although I think that may be more acting than really drunk.

I'm not sure how many it takes me, when I drink its usually all at the same time, ie. we go down to the woods before a disco and drink there for an hour. So I don't really notice the effects until we leave. But I never have more than a bottle of wine in one go or a half-bottle of vodka with coke. If I can I'll get more when I'm there from somebody, but as long as I leave it a while.

Depends really on the state of my body before hand. Some nights I can drink a bottle of wine and feel pretty fine (and then drink some more!), whereas some I'll have three or four ciders and feel a bit tipsy... strange!
