A person I saw today really reminded me of the scum in shameless.....O_o. This screggy old man - 2ft grey/white beard, looked like he hadnt washed in a year - walked into best one (discount store) and instantly the guy behind the counter turned round and gave him a pack of fags. The best bit was then to pay for these cigarettes, the guy got out a used cigarette packet, poured some money out and left. He had counted out the exact change in silver and coppers.....

Skins - Superb with dealing with normal teenage problems, drugs, sex, eating etc and its very funny.

Shameless - used to be great, now its alright but has got worse

I watched tonight's episode of skins, and it was much, much, much better than last week's episode. I think the way they dealt with the eating disorder issue was quite good.

What the hell, it felt like a completely different programme to last week.

Yah. That's true. I liked the first episode, thought it was quite well written and certainly very funny. But this second episode was far better. It's usually the case with TV programmes though that first episode is the weakest, they have to introduce us to the characters and tone of the programme whilst still telling an entertaining and engaging story. That's a very tough thing to do.

Best thing about the programme is that it's so well shot, unlike many of the programmes of this ilk - Sugar Rush for instance. Look forward to future episodes, doubt they'll be better than tonights though.

Just a quick note about versimilitude, the kids in the programme are far too cool. They're into too much good music, reading too many cool books and watching too many cool films - that Tony kid had a poster for "8 1/2" on his wall, I mean how many 17 year old kids like Fellini flicks?

The second episode of skins was much better than the first. The asting disorder thing with cassie? i think thats her name was really well dealt with. Whe the word "eat" kept appearing, like on her plate of food was really clever.

Shamless was good for the first series, second series got shite and since then i haven't been able to bring myself to watch it!

skins however is amazing but then again it is just its first series, i kinda hope its going to be a one series run for some reason, like sugar rush should've stopped after the end of the first series.

Skins is on an average now of 900,000 viewers per episode on E4 which is really good for digital.....its the best show on tv and that i have ever seen.

it has improved since the "meh" first episode. Its now the best show on tv.

There is going to be a second series, the christ character confirmed it on bbc radio online. They are going to film it in the summer.

Skins is growing on me a lot recently. Shameless could be viewed as patronising to those living on a council estate, it still makes good telly.

It's Anwar's birthday party, yet no-one is in the mood to celebrate. Sid thinks he's got his act together, but when he tries to tell Cassie how he feels he ends up in a padded cell. Tony is also in the mood to make up, but seems his luck has run out too. There are scores to be settled. And settled they are, with some unexpected yet dangerously wonderful consequences. Guest starring Nina Wadia as Anwar's Mum.

A heads up to those who enjoy who Skins who don't know about "Unseen Skins (http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/S/skins/unseen.html)".

They basically deleted scenes from each of the episodes. The one for episode 6 is... random to say the least, not surprised it was cut.

It's not at all. It's mildly entertaining, but repeating storylines that were done years ago in a modern and NU RAVE setting. With plenty of swearing, drugs and alcohol. The chicks are hot though. And they used Totally Wired by The Fall in the first episode, so the makers of the programme get some props for that. Otherwise it's just aspirational TV for teenagers that's had a few decent episodes.
