paranoia soul

I'm playing dawn of sorrow and have compleated it first time but can't get into the mirrors. I think I need the 'paranoia soul' but don't have it. Don't want to put this game down yet so what is this glaringly obvious trick I have missed?

To get Paranoia you need to get past the 3 pillars that have the monsters on them, Axe, The imp like monster that has the spoon of fire, and killer clown) once you get past those just carry onto the boss room and you'll get Paranoia if you beat him
