They destroyed so little of the PS3 yet completely destroyed the Wii, only half of the PS3 was actually damaged. They say they're going to do a more comprehensive version in a few days and I hope they do. The PS3 smashing was underwhelming, not enough damage.

I agree, but the Wii is the perfect size to be hit by a mallet.

What a moron. That's just selfish when there's plenty of people in America who want a Wii but are probably going home empty handed. He's just bitter that he's ginger and a virgin.

I only like the Xbox one they did. Maybe it's because the other ones are not extended yet, but I just don't find those very entertaining.

Ahhh, I've had this discussion over on another forum about the ps3 one(www.smashmyps3.com). Honestly, I think you're idiots to get offended by it, they haven't done anything immoral. I gotta say, I haven't seen the wii yet, but I was mightily impressed with the PS3's ressiliance, that thing took a good sledgehammer battering and still didn't shatter into millions of pieces, when they did it with the 360 it crumbled like a cookie.

This was a funny idea, but the videos just never made me laugh. They've got balls though, especially to do it to the rare PS3.

The PS3 one wasn't fun for me, it was rather underwhelming as I mentioned above, way too little damage. Could've swung harder the guy that was using the sledgehammer, obviously wasn't exerting full power. I'd only give that particular video 3/10, a rather disappointing effort, especially if I had been silly enough to give away my money, I'D WANT MAXIMUM DAMAGE equalling maximum value for money.

Whats more selfish:
Someone waiting in line, getting a console and smashing it for the amusement of others.
or
Someone waiting in line, then selling the console for profit.

they are retards.. I can afford a Wii, not problem.. but im thinking off all the little kids that can't.. why don't give it to them? People will do anything to get a bit of attention
Babooo

That was actually quite funny.....
EDIT: Librarian, who cares about little kids who can't get their hands on a Wii? They're deprived of a games console not food and drink.....

Why don't give it to them? WHY give it to them? I still can't understand what there is to be offended about, it's not like they stole someone's PS3 and did it, or stole a pre-order, or bullied their way into getting a PS3 or anything. Not only that, but it's just 1 console, I think the people who are reselling are much worse, but as with the guys who smash consoles, the people who resell have legitimately obtained their consoles and are free to do what they want with it after.
Before they started with the sledgehammer, they should have thrown it high up in the air then let it fall back down to the ground(would have also been nice to see a fanboy run out from the shop queue to catch it, miss it, and lose his place in the queue). I think the guy with the hammer was hitting it pretty hard, but the thing was just built very well that it took the force.
whats funny is that everyone knew this was gonna happen, yet people are still whining.
Its their money, let them do what the hell they want with it.
Actually, It's money that other people donated to them so they could smash it.

To which some would be rather disappointed with the "weak effort" demonstrated with the PS3 smashing. Its more durable due to having a lot more components inside but a few smashes on the thin sides and it would've done massive damage exposing the centre, smash away.

Yea. They should extend the smashing. They have the console, tools and equipment, so why not?

That would have looked much sweeter, if they'd stood it on the side then taken a full swing at it *imagines PS3 crumbling in the middle*
I wonder if people who care about this would care if it was done 2 years from now? Or if it was done with a gamecube right now? Or just something else, like a brand new TV? Would it be such a big deal if the PS3 and Wii weren't in such short supply?

Look at all you hypocrites. It's okay for "Smash My PS3" but not for Wii.
Well, I find it hysterical that the PS3 was near impossible to smash (and to get the amount of damage shown in the pictures took TWO attempts) but the Wii smashed into little pieces. And the crowd cheered when the Wii was smashed, Time Square was equally pissed off when the PS3 was.

In my opinion, the smashers are not stupid for using the money to smash the Wii. The people who gave them the money are the real idiots.

Hehe, the Wii took quite a few hits.
Also the crowds reaction was pretty cool too. The PS3 crowd didn't know what was going on but there some knew about the "project" it seemed.

I give it 5/10, only because Franz Ferdinand's "The Fallen" plays at the beginning of the video. Without it, would only get a 2/10. I see no point in smashing expensive equipment up.

Me neither. Dilli Gee, I would like to see you post some proof of your silly claim. From what I can see, people are either outraged about both, or don't care about either. I find them both amusing myself. I never though opinions would be so extremely split on such a thing though, tis interesting.

Loved the Wii one, thoguht they did a good job. The PS3 one was poor, not enough damage for my liking.
