"Quick News: In what has come as a surprise to many, Square Enix proposed a DS basketball game set in the Mario Universe to Nintendo and the plans have now been finalised. The result is not just the title, Mario 3-on-3, but the first time the two companies have joined forces since Super Mario RPG back in 1996!
Will we finally see a port of the classic?"

I lost faith in Square a long time ago but if they start to make games as good as they used to a long time ago then maybe.....

Sounds like a bit of a random genre for Square-Enix to take on. I got the impression they mainly did RPG's. Good to know they've got close again though.

True, but I know Enix had involvements with II and III because they bought some shares into the company.

Square also did the beat-em-'ups The Bouncer and the Tobal series. And a racing game - Driving Emotion Type-S. Nice to hear Square-Enix are branching out further

you have to press on the touch pad to bounce the ball. That sounds a really good idea!
Good unique use of the touchscreen!

I think the control scheme for Mario Basketball is a brilliant idea and I can“t wait to see the videos showing it in action with someone playing it using that control scheme.
Definetly on the pre-order list
