Right, after hearing about it and attempting for a while without success, is there a particular way in which you catch the Hylian Loach?!

Any of you actually caught it?

Grrr, I want to get this bugger!!!

ps: remember in the c-e forums, the guy who asked "how do you kill the deku tree, i've heard his weakspot is his moustache"?
oh how that made me chuckle!!!

Yeah i've caught the 35+ pound beast that resides in the bottom of the lake!

What you have to do to catch him is find the 'Sinking Lure' that is hidden in the grass around the inside walls of the area;
Just roll around hugging the wall until you find it; it is usually (i've found) where the little stream at the back of the area enters from.

Once you've found it; go get him!!

IIRC you also have to have been awarded the Golden Scale (by catching a 16lb fish - I think it's 16lb might be more) as it is not until after this point that the Loach will appear in the pond.

When you find the sinking lure make sure you speak to the guy behind the counter before you use it. That way he'll agree to it being used.

It's better to fish at daybreak or sunset (enter the door to the pond after you hear the wolf cry).

The Loach sits at the very bottom of the centre of the pond and hardly moves at all. It also helps to equip your Iron Boots and Blue Tunic as you can then wade into the pond and look underwater to get a better view of where he is.

It took me an age to get him to bite, but when he does it's a hell of a battle to reel him in. If he's pulling strongly in one direction (i.e. away from where you are trying to pull him) then quickly snap the fishing rod over to that direction. It will catch him unawares and allow you to quickly snap the rod back the other way and reel him in a bit more.

Happy fishing!

easiest way to fish:
tease the fish until they are 2inches away from link, that way as soon as they bite, you pull them in.
you can get 20+ pound fish this way with the normal lure... you know the ones that 'just let go' if you battle them for too long.
